    Impound invoice

    Location: 7TH E/O WEST
Destination: AARCO TOWING, ***** Little ******* Rd, Desert Hot Springs CA *****
    Date/Time Impounded: 4/19/2023 @ 5:00 PM

    Reason: Police
    Vehicle: 2007 LandRover RangeRover
    License: ******* (CA)
    VIN: SALM**********620

    Invoice Total: $1,635.00

Let the record show that I had full intentions of paying the full price in order to get my car out of impound. I had just won a jackpot at Agua caliente casino, but my Casino winnings were in my messenger bag pocket, which was sitting in my vehicle. Since my vehicle was locked and secured when I last saw it, I truly felt no need to be concerned about whether or not it would still be there.
Unfortunately, I was out of town, And by the time I made it back into town to retrieve my vehicle it had already been impounded for 21 days. Nevertheless I was still willing to pay the fees. I planned on collecting belongings from my vehicle, including the casino winnings, Although, upon initial inspection of my vehicle I noticed that the driver side door was unlocked. This was immediate red flag, considering I locked my vehicle before leaving town. And this I know for a fact. Upon further inspection I noticed the passenger side door has been broken into, Clear signs of the locking mechanism no longer functioning are clear indicators of this. Realizing my car broken into. Every gym bag/luggage case/backpack had been ransacked. The money was gone. I called 911 to File A police report, during which the officer informed me, That he knows from his last conversation with the tow yard staff… that the surveillance cameras they use are not functioning. In conclusion, I don’t think its fair that The tow yard has any right to full payment of storage of my vehicle, I understand they are providing a service. But, part of that service is that my vehicle would be under 24 hour surveillance at all times. Since that was not provided, should I be held up against the entirety of the impound invoice. Absolutely not!!!!!

    Business Response

    Date: 05/31/2023

Vehicle was towed for expired registration for more than six months and parked on a roadway abandoned. Also you can see the Police Dept. did not list any inventory of the vehicle so there was nothing in the vehicle when we towed it per the Desert Hot Springs Police Department. I have attached a copy of the CHP-180 from the DHSPD which is a vehicle report. Further more this vehicle was released by the DHSPD to a ****** ***** ****. and had no complaints and was also given a $500.00 discount and was very thankful.
