As I bought a new home, I discovered a leak prior to closing. The owner's insurance sent out servpro. I closed the next week after an estimate from servpro was around $7719 and I would have that to put towards a new floor. I told servpro I needed to do a few modifications in the kitchen prior to placing the floor and they offered to help with that by getting a subcontractor estimate. It was outrageously high ($94,000 excluding appliances and countertops in a $300,000 home). I declined and said I would pursue other contractors. I then found out that the previous homeowner had handed over the insurance check to servpro at their request. They now will not refund the homeowner the full amount and are insisting on taking a large portion of the check without doing any repairs, leaving me with not enough to cover the repairs of the floor. They are bullying me over not falling prey to their overinflated estimate with their subcontractor and (I believe) losing lots in a large kickback from them. They are refusing to speak with me, and only the aged homeowner widow who now lives in assisted living, whom they made give them the insurance money, although I had not agreed to use them.

On Aug 6th 2024 I had SERVPRO come to my house to set up fans and dehumidifiers for water I had received in all three of my bedrooms here in ******* that are carpeted. I was told it would cost $2,900. They came in only set up fans no dehumidifiers and left them overnight. They took off all my baseboards and put them in the garage. The next day different guys showed up to pick up the fans and I thought they were going to take off my tack strips that were all moldy and put back my baseboards as this was told to me from the guys who set up the fans in my house. Apparently the guys who take the fans do not take out the tack strips for the carpeting or replace the baseboards. I was then told by ***************** the sales guy at SERVPRO that it would be extra to have that taken care of by another team. That was never mentioned to me on the initial visit. I paid the down payment of $1450 but I refuse to pay the balance of the $2900 since the work was not completed properly. This company is a rip off!! They do NOT do what they say they will do to help remedy your issue. Restoration companies are supposed to restore your home so it looks like you never had any damage. Now I am stuck taking the tack strips off and replacing my baseboards.

Bathroom Leak - In September, we came home to a leak in our main bathroom upstairs onto our additional bathroom downstairs in our basement. Servpro came in towards the end of the month to start mitigation. The drying machines were at the house for 5 weeks (not 5 days like they told my insurance company). They did not do any type of water testing BEFORE demolishing the entire walk-in shower. More weeks passed with no work being performed. They have had incompetent workers and untruthful workers. They damaged a $5,000 bathtub, and the bathroom vanity, that had to be resurfaced. The shower was eventually semi-finished, still waiting on grout and caulking and a curb (5 weeks now), They have torn out all the baseboards and door frames, most are missing. They did not contain any of the areas, while demolishing, so the walls in the basement, both bedrooms, and entry door area and stairwell area all have to be cleaned before painting is done, it's filthy and they have left a mess. SERVPRO HAS BEEN ON THIS JOB FOR SEVEN (7) MONTHS AND IT IS STILL NOT DONE!!!!! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY IN THE *************, ** AREA!!! I would be embarrassed to own this company, they do not have integrity.

Servpro was called by Statefarm renter's insurance to come out and inspect/give estimate to water damage issues on 3/1/22 and they came out at the same time another water damage mitigation company, to inspect and give free estimate about the situation. I let 2 companies come in at same time only for free estimates. I rejected/ refused to hire Servpro as they asked me to sign something and I refused and explained that I needed to consult with the owner as I am not an Owner just someone trying to help. That was the last time I saw them. Yet after I refused, someone worked for Servpro kept contacting me to let them do the water mitigation and I told them that another company all ready did and I thanked them for their time. Months later, a surprise invoice came on 7/25/22. They invoiced for service that was never performed nor authorized. They tried to scam their way to get money for doing nothing. This is very unethical of them. I called and emailed them about it but I got no reply nor help from them. ****** ******* was A/R person who was supposed to help me but he forwarded my email to **** ********* A/R Supervisor, whose phone number was not given to me when I asked ****** for it. This will not be resolved so I will have to take this step involved BBB and hopefully this big company will not try to prey on innocent consumers!
