Solar installation complete in January 2023. On the grid on March ******. Promises of incentives of $1000 at the end of installation. None given.2. Was told that I would be getting a 26 percent solar credit ($23,000) to put directly back into my loan. Upon completion of taxes, I didn't qualify for it because of no taxed income. I am a 64 year old retired widow. Never was I told to check with a tax specialist. *************************************** the sales rep, sold this project with the idea of me getting this credit. When I texted him about this his response was " I was under the impression you had a taxed income" Completely misinformation by him. In 10 months I will be paying a lot more that I was before. My current solar finance bill is $520 which will increase significantly is 10 months. 3. Solar project was for an aggregation project for my home and my large storage shop. 44 panels were installed that would provide 28k kwh and would provide more than enough energy for both. As of today (8/17/23), PGE is still not fully connected and I am paying for both the solar project and PGE. This is now costing me more than with just electricity alone. I was told by both solar and PGE it would take 60 days as of March to be fully connected. Many emails and calls to all involved with no solution. 4. 44 panels are currently connected to a **** square foot home and my currently true up bill is almost $1500. I was told up my true up would be minimal. 5. Ive never received any documentation regarding this project or a loan. This company sends out a portfolio with this info, but Ive never received it. I have requested it 3 times with no response.6. I have been contacting this company and all involved for over a month and no one returns emails, calls, or is attempting to help with this situation. Neither Power on Solar nor Sun Power is being responsive, and yet here I am having to be responsible for the payment. I have emails and text messages that can be sent upon request

      Business Response

This customer has gone ********************** with us for her primary residence and is very happy.  She then represented her mother and made a critical error in calculating her mother's financial tax burden leading her to be upset with us.  We have been in contact with her to help find a resolution and are willing to do whatever we need to do, within reason, to make her happy.  There is a hold up with PG&E that we are working through as well and will compensate the customer for any lost value should we be at fault for the delay with PG&E

Feel free to call me should you have any questions or concerns

      Complaint: 20486312

I am rejecting this response because: false information .

Dealer response: This customer has gone ********************** with us for her primary residence and is very happy.

-When did I state this? I said that everything is working the way it should be with my solar. However, I am not happy with Power on Solar since I havent received the $1000 referral that was promised upon my mothers solar installation (in January). I will be filing my own separate complaint regarding this.

Dealer response: She then represented her mother and made a critical error in calculating her mothers financial tax burden leading her to be upset with us.

-************** knows that this is completely false. My mother was never told once to contact a tax expert to make sure she qualified for a solar credit. In fact, when I did my own personal loan project I wasnt told to either. However, my husband and I work and were able to qualify for it. My mother on the other hand is a 64 year old retired widow, with no taxable income. When I emailed ******* regarding this she stated We are not tax consultants as you know and it is USUALLY advised at the time of sale to consult your tax person. (see page 34). I then texted *********************************. He is the salesman that we dealt with the entire time. His response was the only person you can talk to at THIS point is a tax professional, and that I was under the impression she had a taxed income. (see page 42). His statement not only shows that we were never told to contact a tax consultation, but that he assumed my mother would qualify.

Dealer response- We have been in contact with her to help find a resolution and are willing to do whatever we need to do. There is a hold up with PGE.

-As you can see through all of the attached emails that began in March, we have hard a hard time getting anything resolved. There have been many times where there was no return emails or responses. Even Sun Power has been trying to get a hold of them.  I was the one who finally figured out the reason why my mother is still receiving electricity bills. I spent a lot of time with different PGE representatives and supervisors, until ***************************** (escalation supervisor) let me know on August 28th that this was due to an error on the application filled out by Power on Solar. On 9/5 I emailed ******* to get an update. Her response was that she was going to get together with her team to see how quickly they could get out there. After not hearing back for a week, I emailed on 9/11 for an update. No response. Then again on 9/13 with again no response. (see page 4). It is now September 25th, and I have not received an update, nor have they been in contact with us to fix this issue. The hold up with PGE is because of Power on Solar. In the meantime, my mother has been paying both PGE and a solar bill since March 2023. Her current True Up bill has reached almost $2000.

There have been continuous problems with Power on Solar. Please see pages 30 and 31. These were the original complaints that were written on 7/5, and as of today, none have been fixed. When ************** says he has been in contact with us to find a resolution and is willing to do what is needed, I would like to ask- how so? There has been no resolution for any of the original complaints.  In fact, we now have another problem on our hands with the incorrect paperwork being filled out. After not hearing from Power on, I contacted PGE. ***************************** ( same supervisor) said my two options would be to attempt to fill out the paperwork myself. They dont recommend that since it is a complex application. The second option would be to pay another solar company to do it. We should not have to do either of these.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information.
      Thanks!

      Sincerely,

      ******************* and ***************************;

This complaint is completely fraudulent and ***** knows this.  I can't go into too much detail as there is an active investigation into activity performed by the sales team that is no longer working for power on solar but the following customers were offered promotions that were not authorized by power on solar and or have not been installed or met the milestone of being payable yet.  The 2 projects that have met the milestone have been paid out.

This complaint is inaccurate and unfounded and needs to be removed immediately.

Please feel free to contact me for any further details.

I am rejecting this response because:

The referrals referenced were not fraudulent and I am unaware of why Power On would believe so.  There was an established referral program and many of these customers have been waiting a year to be paid.  The milestones, in many cases, have been met for a year and I have been receiving texts from customers asking for their referrals.  I had been sending ******* a rolling spreadsheet of the referrals that needed to be paid (from my now disconnected Power On email address) and I was always told that they would get to them.  Never was I told that they were not valid. I even reached out to ******* from my personal email on 4/11/23 asking for referrals to be paid (it was not a comprehensive list since I had my Power On email deactivated and I have no way of accessing customers who are owed bonuses) and on 4/13/23, ******* responded that referrals would be handled "next week".  Again, I have probably heard that referrals would be handled soon about 5 times, but I was never told they were fraudulent and I know that the referrals have not been paid.

      Sincerely,

      *******************************

PowerOn Solar promised us a $1000 rebate on our SunPower solar system at point of sale. PowerOn promised us a rebate 6-8 weeks after installation was completed. The solar system was installed on January 20, 2023, but PowerOn is refusing to provide us the promised $1000 rebate.

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint against Power on Solar for their failure to honor their commitments regarding rebate payments and referral bonuses. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue directly with the company, I have not received any further responses regarding this issue or the promised payments. On November 17, 2022, I had a solar installation completed by SunPower (signed through Power on Solar). Based on the written confirmation from the Sales Representative of Power on Solar, I would be eligible for a $1,000 rebate upon the completion of installation. Additionally, I was referred to Power on Solar by a friend who was also promised a $1,000 rebate along with a $1,000 referral bonus. Regrettably, neither of us has received the payments we were assured, and it's been more than 6 months.I reached out to Power on Solar on March 28, 2023, inquiring about the status of my rebate payment of $1,000 as well as my friend's rebate payment and referral bonus of $2,000. On March 30, 2023, *******, the Sales Operation Manager, responded asking for some details and I replied the same day to provide the context as well as the written confirmation to prove that I was promised these incentives prior to entering the sales contract. However, that was the last response I received from ******* and I have been met with silence despite numerous follow-up attempts. In addition to the lack of communication and failure to fulfill their commitments, Power on Solar has made it extremely difficult to contact them. Their business phone number listed on their website has proven to be unresponsive, regardless of the time of day or frequency of calls. This level of inaccessibility has made it nearly impossible for us to seek resolution.Given the lack of response and resolution from Power on Solar, I kindly request the assistance of the Better Business Bureau in resolving this dispute and obtaining the rebate and referral bonus that are rightfully owed to me and my friend. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Hello BBB,

We have in fact been in contact with this customer.  We had an outside sales representative who sold this customer their contract and was offering incentives that were not supported by Power On Solar.  We explained this to the customer and what our incentive plan currently is which is approximately half of what this particular rep offered.  ******* no longer works with us and is unresponsive to our inquires on how to best resolve the issue.  I am working with my legal team to come to a solution and will reach out to the customer again to explain.  We will ultimately do what is morally and legally correct.

      Thank you

I am rejecting this response because even though the Company explained what happened, they did not provide any clear solution nor expectation on when the issue can be resolved. I would like to request that the Company (1) pays out half of the outstanding payments immediately, which is in line with what they currently offer per the response and (2) provides an expectation on when they can provide an update on the remaining half.

Thank you for your help again.
