  UNSATISFACTORY AND INAPPROPRIATE WORK Approximately two weeks before Absolute Duct Cleaning gave their written "estimate" for $1940.40, which we paid the day of their work, the Senior Technician of a highly regarded Plumbing-HVAC contractor, inspected the entire HVAC system, set the louvers and registers, balanced the indoor air quality, and achieved the optimum level of performance. Also, he turned the system "on" to confirm the air flow and temperature were 100% satisfactory to the tenant. After Absolute did their work, we requested the same technician to come back; he had to correct the directional louvers and/or registers that were altered, causing improper or inadequate velocity and direction of air flow, and unsatisfactory temperature in multiple areas, along with the previous AC balancing being undermined and/or compromised, etc. He also removed the $250 unnecessary and inappropriate "Special" filter in the attic inserted by Absolute; had to support a 16" duct in our attic because it's prior direction, path and correct position had been impaired or bent, restricting the previous appropriate air flow. **** the manufacturer of our HVAC system, confirmed verbally and with the **** MANUAL sent to us, NO furnace filter is necessary for our furnace since there are two (2) return or intake vents with air filters in or Townhome; by adding any furnace filter, it can improperly restrict air flow, and invalidates the **** warranty. The Absolute estimate included one cut-to-fit reusable fiberglass filter, which their workers did NOT bring; did NOT have, nor any other filter in their truck for our two return or intake vents; and, they did NOT offer to come back. There were marks on the stairway walls; dirt, dust and debris NOT vacuumed by Absolute. As such, we believe there were false promises and poor workmanship. Absolute did NOT honor their "Satisfaction Guaranteed."

  BBB Public Response: Absolute Duct & Chimney Cleaning prides itself on delivering exceptional service. We are disappointed to hear your negative perspective on the service you received. Prior to providing the service, our office staff diligently addressed and answered the numerous questions you had. We thoroughly explained the process and procedures of the service before scheduling it. The only work that was conducted was the work you had approved. No additional work was added to the service that was previously agreed to. It is important to note that Absolute technicians simply clean the debris and sanitize the ducting system with reverse air pressure from outside of the wall registers. We do not make repairs or adjustments to any components of the **** system or ducting, therefor our work would not have affected your air flow. Regarding the filter, you deemed unnecessary; this was an existing HEPA filter installed in 2022, approx. 1 year prior to the duct cleaning we completed. We did not install the current HEPA filter cabinet, however simply swapped out the actual 4-inch filter that is recommended to be replaced annually, per your authorization. As for the filter in the return register, this filter was also existing. We did not remove or replace this filter, as it was not part of our original scope of work. All work was carried out and completed according to the approved scope of work. We firmly believe that no unsatisfactory or inappropriate work of any kind was performed during your service.
