I took my Prius in to have a problem noise diagnosed. The owner ********************* the noise. **** told myself and my husband that it was not the tires or wheel bearing after he took the car apart. He indicated in writing that it needed a new transmission (approx $8000 for a new transmission). This sounded odd to me since the car only has ****** miles and ******s are quality cars. **** from Aamco gave me a false and misleading diagnosis. I contacted 2 other companies ********* where I bought the Prius and ********* about the noise) both companies said it was a ********** issue that was plainly visible and obvious. I immediately asked **** at Aamco for my car back. He refused unless I paid him $372 for the diagnosis even though I had 2 other reputable and honest companies explain in writing it was just a visible and obvious tire issue. I gave him my credit card because he held my car hostage. I only paid him because he refused to return my keys otherwise. He not only misdiagnosed the car problem to try to upsell me on a NOT needed transmision but he also charged me $372 for his mistake. I told him multiple times I wanted a refund and that he made a mistake. He hung up on me. ********* ultimately replaced the tire and it was a minor issue. I have it in writing from ********* and ****** that it was a tire issue. It was never the transmission. I am also disputing the charge with my credit card company against him
