      We learned the hard way that vacant land must be kept free of growth of more than four inches. The City of SD contracts with Fire Prevention Services Inc to cut the growth down. Makes sense. We didnt know and it needed to be ******** did we find out? A $732.72 bill with legal wording that was intimidating. Not just an invoice. A power play with notarized copies of the deed to say lack of payment will result in property abatement.I paid the bill but then decided to run it by our local City Council members office. They thought the bill looked fishy and advised me to stop payment immediately. I did. Which cost $25. A few days later, their research revealed it is a legit business and ********** I wrote another check for $732.72 and mailed it.About a week later I get notice that a registered letter was not successfully delivered. I went to ******** to arrange for redelivery. It never came.A few days later I get another letter with a copy of the invoice and a copy of their registered mail fee demanding payment and to consider consulting an attorney. This letter also contained several misspellings, which showed me that they did not respect me enough to take the time to craft a letter. I sent the amount asked for, $42.58. So now I am out $732.72+$25+42.58=$800.30.I can tell this company doesnt give a hoot about customers or customer service by their scare tactics. $732 is not a small number. Thats not an easy check to write but I did. It wouldnt sting so much if this companys business practices werent so hostile.

      This company claims they are with the *****************. They send your a certified letter enabling them to dictate any and all payment terms. They tried to charge me over ******* to clear weeds from my yard. Erroneous behavior for an erroneous business. When the world needs more honest companies youve got this FIRE PREVENTION SERVICES PO **** ********, ** ***** ripping homeowners off in the worst way possible.
