    Just having a challenging time getting in contact with ***. My 2020 taxes were filed, and later a 1040X was sent to adjust the filing status for State and Federal. ******** was approved rather quickly but Federal has been at a standstill. I have emailed *** a dozen times to see if she can help me track down if anything is wrong as this is starting to affect my government employment as I have had to declare this on several employment forms and background checks with investigators. There has been seemingly no movement on the Federal amendment from the *** perspective, no idea if they accepted my amended return or not, but it was sent in months ago. I would like *** to follow-up with the *** to find out the status, as the Failure to Pay Penalty and Interest keeps rising. I did not want to have to reach out to the BBB but it has come to this point as it is affecting my livelyhood and potentially my employment. *** has been great, and I feel like she is just ****** overburdened with customers.

    I have had a great deal of difficulty as have the general public in reaching the *** to discuss matters pertaining to tax questions.  Finally after months of attempting to obtain answers, I was able to reach an *** agent who told me they do not have a record of receiving the amendment which was mailed some time ago.

    The *** recommended mailing it again - most likely this return was one of the many paper returns that were destroyed by the ***.  We can not efile this return because of the nature of the amendment.

    I understand ************************ concerns and I know he is aware I do answer his emails when he forwards his questions - this has been tough only because the *** simply is understaffed and does not even answer their phones.  I have mailed letters but to my knowledge ******************** has yet to receive answer which is also a common issue with the ***.  We are not overburdened with customers - the *** is overburdened with customers.  We are working with the *** on a daily basis attempting to obtain information and resolution to issues.

    I will forward another copy of the amendment to ******************** to resign and send to the *** which is the only option at this time.

    I appreciate all of my clients including ************************ patience as the *** play catch up with the hiring of new agents which will hopefully solve this issue.
