    Today, June 28, 2025, I attended a personal-development training called Ascension Leadership Academy (ALA) in ******, **, led by ***** ***.During a guided meditation exercise, Mr. *** yelled aggressively directly into my ear because I wasnt meditating hard enough, or in his exact words I was not all in. He then forcefully kicked the back of my chair, nearly knocking me off onto the floor, and publicly humiliated me by forcing me into the hallway outside and getting very close to my face while yelling if you dont do this my way you need to leave. Immediately afterward, I was ejected from the event for not complying with his aggressive instructions.This behavior was witnessed by multiple staff members and participants, including **** *********** (a staff lead), who acknowledged to me privately that Mr. **** actions were inappropriate. Despite this, I was refused any refund. In total, I incurred approximately $8,000 in costs (course fee plus travel and accommodation) to attend this event.ALAs aggressive and intimidating approach left me feeling emotionally distressed, unsafe, and financially exploited. I believe the conduct of Mr. *** and the subsequent refusal of a refund constitutes deceptive, abusive, and unethical business practices, and I am deeply concerned for the safety and well-being of other ************ desired outcome is a full refund, an official apology, and a commitment from *** that such harmful behavior will cease immediately.

    Hello *******. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to your complaint. After receiving your online complaints, we conducted multiple interviews with students, staff and the Facilitator, ***** ***. We also attempted to reach out to you with both a phone call and messages but have yet to receive a response. There are several discrepancies and differences in perspective between your account of what occurred and that of others present, to include **** ***********. To date, our offices have not received a refund request except through this BBB communication. We would be happy to have a conversation to issue a refund, however, a direct request to our offices, not to volunteers or staff, would allow us to proceed with a refund as we agree that this is not a good fit. Please reach out to ***************** or ************ so that we can resolve this matter as quickly and amicably as possible. Thank you.
