    Details:- Date used American Movers services: 5/4/2024 - Within City Move (2 trips)- Damage to property including: items broken, dropped several items, missing items, and damaged new home walls - Did not have me inspect the truck before requesting payment, never gave me the opportunity to look in the truck - Missing property: *********************** Train Set worth $500 - I saw the item 17"x17"x9" in the garage as the crew was loading the truck on the second trip, item did not make it to the new home (the items that were with the train set were all stacked within the new garage.) - searched both homes, personal vehicles, etc. top to bottom and did not find the item - I informed him that I would be filing a police report to which he responded, "good luck with that, it'll be a false claim." General poor practices of customer service and behavior.- ************ Report: Escondido PD Case #********; Officer ************** # **** took the information. - Blamed me for the item being missing, laughed at me for the loss, did not return phone calls (had to call them several times to understand current situation, generally not a great response. Office manager continued to laughed at me and said, "what would grown men do with a *********************** train set?" unsure if they actually searched for the missing item.- Overcharged me for the services as well and then requested tips - $1881 at $180/hour results in *****hrs of work when they were working from 9am-5:45pm minus 1 hour of lunch (roughly 8 hours of work)- Left tools behind - When asked if I could file a stolen item claim was told that I would only receive $0.60/pound of the item that was lost (roughly a claim for $9.50), I would not receive the value of the item at all. Totally unacceptable!

    March 22, 2024 The business never called back to set up date for service. When I called numerous of times and left messages, I still haven't received a call regarding the date of service for my long distance move. I finally called the moving company on 4/30/24, and was talked to very badly by someone who said his name was *** the dispatch coordinator who still didn't provide me with a date of service. I told *** that I would like to cancel the service and receive a refund for service that was never rendered and *** refused.

    Move was on July 12th. I was quoted $375, but charged $700. $300 paid on card, and $400 paid in cash. The moving company has a policy for damaged and lost items during the move, and has yet to reimburse me for the damages. I have a damaged media console and sectional sofa. I am missing a few portraits and pictures. American Movers states in an email on July 27th We are sorry to hear any damages occurred. We are more than happy to provide reimbursement for the damages under our Basic Value Protection which comes included on all moves we do. We will review the entire situation and see if we can do anymore than just the Basic Value Protection. They have avoided reimbursement and have ignored emails since this this email (7 weeks now). I am requesting a refund of the finances and dues paid to American Moving in regards to the damages and lost items.
