      On 3/9/2025 we just wanted a new battery for my mom's watch, an old Patek ********* We were quoted $65 for the job and the employee said it wasn't a problem and they could change the battery and it would take about 40 minutes. An hour and a half go by and it still hasn't been completed. We could see the watch was still taken apart and the employee was using a small hammer on the watch. They claimed the reason it was taking so long was because they suddenly got busy and backed up. We waited for them to finish and when the watch was handed back to us it had multiple deep gouges on the back of the watch where it was evident they had forced the watch open. There were also new dents on the crown and sides of the watch face. The pins that were holding the watch face to the bracelet were dented and uneven. We showed these scratches and dents to the employee and asked what had happened, and they claimed that they used the right tools to open the watch. The clasp is damaged and no longer closes. The damage is extensive, even for an old watch. We demanded an explanation and the only thing they offered was to have their jeweller polish and buff the watch for free (the jeweller was not in store). It is obvious they are not trained to handle such pieces yet they accepted our order and completely destroyed the watch.
