On Feb. 21 I flew into ************ and had reserved a car from ***** I rented a Tesla. It bears mentioning that there were no instructions in the car for how to use the key card that Tesla cars use. I did manage to start the car after some time. That evening I locked the key card in the car. I have never rented a car where this was possible. Usually the car beeps at you if you try and attempt this. This car did not. I called the **** Emergency Line. After 45 minutes I finally had someone who said they would remotely unlock the car. Then the call dropped. Even though **** had my information, they did not call back. So again, I called. After waiting on hold for another 30 minutes, I gave us and had a friend drive me back to the airport. After hearing they did not have a spare key and did not know how to remotely unlock the car, they suggested I call a locksmith. Which I did. Another hour later I was finally back in the rental car. Not only did **** not reimburse me for the locksmith, but they billed me for a tow charge. A tow that never happened. They have agreed to drop the bill, but I'm still out the cost of the locksmith. I would like a credit for the cost of the locksmith, which I never should have had to get and that **** themselves recommended getting.
