We brought our RV in on 11/3/22 they called on 11/8/22. The bedroom slide out was a little slow and wanted them to look at it (Nothing was broken). They called Tuesday morning and said a boot was stuck and preventing it from sliding out. 1: we had nothing in the way when we dropped it off. 2: there’s no way for my boots that were near the side could to get stuck and prevent it from sliding out. 3. If we did happen to have an item in the way, The employees don’t think to look before sliding it in/out and possibly move any items in the way? The employees took pictures of everything in the trailer and made their opinions on what the problems was/could be. We spoke to ******* who’s an employee Also ***** ******** who said she was the boss/owner. I asked who to file a complaint with, if there’s anyone above her we can speak to and she said no. Both women were very rude and everytime we would try to talk, they would speak over us. They suggested us not to open the slide because it’s noisy and very loud, which it wasn’t before we dropped it off. We are senior citizens and live in our trailer and now have to fix their mistake which they are claiming we did. They sent multiple emails/ paperwork stating it was our fault and not theirs. They are making it seem like it’s our word against theirs now and we don’t know what else to do or who to report to. We didn’t want to deal with them anymore and paid the $250 and picked up our trailer. After we picked it up, 2 days later they are still contacting us through email stating “You requested for a service to be provided in which we complied. We advised you beforehand that if we find that the repair will not be covered because of obstructions of objects on the slide out among other things, you as a customer will be responsible.“ My daughter called in to see why they’re still sending stuff and they were very rude and arguing that she’s not part of this problem. We would like to have no further contact with them.

    Business Response

This letter will serve as a response to the allegations filed and/or submitted by Ms. ******** as reflected in t e above-mentioned complaint number.
Please be informed that we received this complaint via U.S. Mail on November 16, 2022. Our response to s. ********** allegations are as follows:
On u r about November 3, 2022, Ms. ******** returned to our facility to finalize repairs that were pending in connection with a removal and replacement of one of the awning fabric and a rear hardware awning which was under manufacturer's warranty. It is customary and standard practice that we perform a walk through with the customers when they drop off and pick up the unit. I personally walked the unit wit Ms. ******** and her husband. At that time, she mentioned to me that her bedroom slide was unable to extend, it struggled and wouldn't move from one end. She asked for us to look into this issue.
We went ahead and performed troubleshooting on the bedroom slide out to figure out what was going on nd we confirmed that one of the reasons why the slide out was not moving is because there was a bot stuck inside the bed frame area. Secondly, the bedroom slide out struggles due to the type of ma tress that the customer currently has in the bedroom area. These type of mattresses puts more weight onto the slide out system.
We advised the customer that when we find these types of causes that create damage to components, the manufacturer may not cover it under their manufacturer's warranty. Therefore, this troubleshooting is going to be a customer pay issue. I realize that the customer may be apprehensive in paying for our service when it is presumed that it will covered by the the manufacturer. On November 8, 2022, Ms. ******** called our facility and asked us not to submit the diagnostics to Forest River and that she was going to take care of it on her own. Subsequently, her husband called and provided us with credit card payment inthe amount of $250.00

    Respectfully

    ***** ********
