We did a small bathtub remodel. The sales representative did not tell me it would be months before my project started. When the project started it took more than the days promised. When the project was finished the forgot to turn the cold water valve on, my daughter nearly got burned as it was only hot. We had to wait until the following day to get that fixed. When inspecting the work done. I noted that the material used did not allow for the tile lines to match up and when I complained that man fixing the valve said that's how they do it. He could have someone call me to speak. Im.still waiting for my phone call.

Delerio illegally substituted materials and products that were specified on my construction plans and that they were contractually required and obligated to provide. Substituting materials shown on contract drawings without the written approval of the Architect of Record and/or the Owner is a direct violation of California Construction Law section 7162(b) and 7109(b). Delerio substituted many materials on my project, but the two most significant are: 1. All of the lumber on our covered patio - an approximately 15 ft x 35 long area. The plans specified Douglas Fir #1 Resawn lumber and they purchased and installed "bark beetle" killed lumber from a local area sawmill just for the purposes of lining their pockets with costs savings at my expense. The installed lumber is far inferior to what I specified on the plans. I estimate (rough costs - I have not solicited bids yet) to replace all the lumber in this area would be in the neighborhood of $75k-$100k because the metal roof would have to be removed and re-installed. 2. They substituted four (4) French doors with an inferior manufacturer even after at least a half dozen warnings to not substitute them. I specified Simpson doors because they were to match doors on the existing part of the house and Simpson produces a very high quality product. They substituted with a cheaper & inferior product and pocketed the savings. We are now having issues with several of the doors sticking and warping. These four doors will cost at least $12,000 to replace with what was specified in their contract. I have reached out to the State Contractors Board and filed an official complaint. That complaint is in process and will be investigated in the coming months. In addition to the above, Delerio provided sub-par workmanship throughout the remodel/addition due to unqualified subs, failed to properly supervise subs and on NUMEROUS occasions failed to construct the project in accordance with the plans & code.
