I rented a storage space from Security Public Storage August 2021On 01/03/2023 I came to pay the storage rent. Also- I dropped some items that were left over from a New Years Eve party I hosted. Among the items were 2- large bottles of alcohol. 1- ***************************** and 1- bottle of Amsterdam Vodka. The bottles remained as originally purchased;sealed by the manufacturer. I received phone msg from *** to come get key from office they had to break off my lock to enter my unit and check for rodents. I got the key and went to pick up the bottles of alcohol. The bottles were gone. I was startled a little confused. One of the *** workers came and explained that when they entered to check for rodents and found the bottles of liquor. They had to remove them and pour them out. The *** worker recorded them entering my storage. They recorded themselves taking the bottles out of my unit. I asked them to show the recording of them pouring out the liquor. They appeared as if they know how phoney their story. I was furious and feeling very ripped off! I purchased services from *** and they violated the contract they made. I wasn't serving drinks in my storage. Alcohol is not a perishable food item. It will evaporate like most luguid. Alcohol is flamble and I imagine if you hold a torch to a bottle of Tequila it might explode. If terrorists bomb *** the bottles will probably combust. I don't believe the *** workers' weak story. They could have called or sent me a message to remove the bottles of liquor. Overall, I feel like I paid the Security Public Storage employees to perpetrate a theft on me. It is wrong to do that to people. Like they set me up to take my stuff. I want them to replace what they stole from me. Or pay me for the value of what they took. They are not very well trained

    Hello,

In an effort to continually ensure all of our tenants belongings are protected, when evidence of any rodent activity is found, we issue unit inspection letters to all units surrounding the problem area. This unit was subject to an inspection and upon doing so on 1/6/2023, we found alcohol inside the unit. Per our rules and regulations, no perishable, flammable, or combustible items are allowed to be stored in our units. Alcohol, when opened, is a perishable item. Alcohol when sealed or unopened is a flammable/combustible item. These items were found and disposed of immediately.

The tenant asked about the situation on 1/21/2023 and was informed of the disposing of the alcohol. On 1/22/2023, the tenant, along with her husband, came into our office and disrespected our manager, stating insulting and personal comments. Due to the violations of our rules, we issued an eviction. When the eviction was issued, the tenant again responded with disrespectful comments, personally attacking our manager and harassing her. The conversation was ended due to the nature of the call was not moving forward.

The eviction was set for 1/30/2023. After this date, the unit was inspected and found to have not been cleared out. According to policy,on 2/15/2023 we contacted the tenant informing her that since the unit was not cleared out, it will sell on the next available auction. The tenant once again stated insulting, disrespectful comments and disconnected from the call.
