Jans towing sent my information to pacific retrieval llc about a car I used to own in 2008- to 2009, they claim that I was the owner of the vehicle in 2022, I have contacted DMV and they have told me that both Jans towing and pacific retrieval llc are trying to scam me, when I asked pacific retrieval to send me the proof that they stated verbally and in paper that they had from DMV record they sent me a lean of sale that anyone can fill out, I want Jans towing to remove me and my spouse from their stupid scam and I want pacific retrieval to remove me from their scam as well, this towing companies need to be regulated by someone, its not ok for them to be doing this to no one! SHAME ON YOU JANS TOWING AND SHAME ON YOU PACIFIC RETRIEVAL LLC.

On March 2nd my car was crashed and a *** request for a tow was filed, Jan's Towing accepted the *** tow and picked my car up from the northbound 210 onramp at Grand Ave. On the *** request, I requested that the load be dropped at my property so that I could figure out how to scrap or salvage the car, however the tow truck driver ********* told me that ***'s had a complimentary recycling service at their tow yard and that if I surrendered the load the problem could be off my hands. The only conditions that ********* had alerted me about was that if the title wasn't turned over to the tow yard within 30 days that a lein would be placed on my car. He then continued asking me questions about my car; asking if I had the registration on hand or if I had full coverage insurance, neither of which I had at the time. He told me that if I left the car where I requested on *** that I would be fined and that I would be liable for parking an inoperable vehicle on the streets and leaking fluid damages, and he gave me the ultimatum of leaving it at my desired drop off spot or surrendering the car so I didn't have to deal with calling a separate tow company to tow my car to the car wholesale buyers. I decided to surrender the car to ***'s as it only made sense to avoid the processes and costs of selling the car myself, which they then towed to their yard and I never heard from until I visited their office. After 28 days of waiting for my title to come to me in the mail I take it straight to ***'s to sign the car title over into their possession. Once I get to ***'s I was hit with a $2000 storage cost and was told that I was supposed to be aware of a $65 a day storage when it was absolutely not mentioned by the tow truck driver or on any of the paperwork that he handed me. We settled the cost at a discounted rate, $500, however it is still an exorbitant cost that I shouldn't have to pay due their own ignorance and proper employee training.

Written by my daughter, *********** mom **** was in a bad car wreck, and in the moment, we didn't know where to have the car towed so it was towed to their storage yard in *****. The truck driver at the accident scene was very kind to my elderly mom. The gentleman who escorted me in a scooter to the car to gather all the belongings was also very kind. That's why the one star review. I called them prior to arriving with my mom and at no time did they tell us that we needed to bring cash, nor did they tell us it was one person at a time, nor did they tell us to bring the pink slip. Given that we no longer had a car since it was totaled - we paid over $132.72 in Uber fares to get this whole transaction done. The women in the office were absolutely awful. They yelled at me twice that I could not be in there with my mom - who is deaf and has some forgetfulness. I told them I had legal rights to sign for my mom if needed. They knew she was 81 years old, sick, and could not hear and still shook up from the accident days earlier. The woman was very rude and told her to bring back cash to pay for the storage fees. My poor mom came out to tell me but forgot half of what she was supposed to do so I made her go back in and tell the lady behind the desk to write it down on paper. When we got back, there was another lady instead and I walked in. The first lady came up and told me since I was not the cars owner to get out. My mom was in there for 20 minutes and I have no idea what happened. I informed them that she had dementia, as well as being hard of hearing, and they still would only talk to her. To me, this was outright elder abuse.
