September 2022 I moved into a smaller storage unit due to a significant rent increase. While moving my belongings, I noticed rodent f**** over many of my items. My wife talked with two employee's who informed her, someone had been living inside one of the storage units next to ours and that's the cause of the f**** I had to throw out many items due to the damaged caused by the f**** April 14, 2023 I went back to my storage unit and noticed again rodent f**** all over my belongings. I complained to an employee who told me the company is not responsible and the insurance I pay every month provided by Old Barn will not cover my damages. Again I ended up throwing out hundreds of dollars of items due to the damages. A week later I talked with the same employee who now said I could file a damage report. I was provided with documents indicating specifically, "rodent damages." I filled out the paperwork and provided them back to the employee. I also emailed the Old Barn Storage informing them what had happened. Two days later I returned to Old Barn Storage and was told they wanted to photograph my unit. I informed them I would meet them Friday morning and they could photograph my unit. That Friday I returned to my unit and was informed they were not going to photograph my unit and there was nothing they were going to do about my damages. Old Barn Storage has not reached out to me. I believe Old Barn Storage is responsible for the damages due to their lack of security and allowing squatters to live inside storage units. Old Barn collected rent from the squatters each month while my belongings got ruined. Old Barn Storage has a due diligence to keep our belongings safe and secure. Since finding out ******************** covers noting, I obtain my own renters insurance. I provided my declaration to them. I was informed they would remove me from their insurance however they would not prorate my monthly fee, which is preposterous.
