    On 2 June 2024 I was on websites for lodging in the Northeast U.S. for the fall colors, and specifically looking for lodging on Nantucket Island, **. Listed among them was Nantucket Whale Inn. No idea why the CALIFORNIA property was listed with ********************* but I did not notice the error until reviewing the confirmation email the next day. I immediately called their listed number *************) and got a voicemail greeting from "******" (sp?). I explained why we need to cancel the reservation for 6 & 7 September. Have not heard back from her after leaving several voicemails, nor has anyone replied to my follow-up emails to ******************************** Don't know if this has any bearing in this matter, but the "Booking Reference Number BB24060214360304" is per Miacomet, although the email confirmation I got appeared to be from the Nantucket Whale Inn in ********** (copy attached).Seeking to get this reservation cancelled and any charges to my credit card to be returned. For the better good of the community, this hotel should NEVER be listed with Nantucket, MA hotels!

    We understand your concern and would like to clarify the situation.
    Regarding the reservation with Booking Reference Number BBN-8B24060214360304 for *******************:


    1. No Charges Made: We want to assure you that we never charged your credit card for this reservation. At our Inn, we only process payments upon the guest's arrival and stay. There was no payment processed for the mentioned booking reference.
    2. Reservation Cancellation: Upon receiving your request to cancel the reservation, we promptly canceled it and sent a cancellation confirmation message to you.
    3. Communication: We regret if there was any lapse in communication. Our records show that we did cancel your reservation upon your request and no further action was required on our part.
    4. Repeated Requests: Given the repeated requests for a refund for a reservation that was never charged, we assumed there might have been some misunderstanding or a potential scam attempt.
    5. COMMTRAK: We are unfamiliar with this company and who ******, A is.
    Furthermore, we want to make it clear that we take our reputation very seriously. If any negative ratings are posted as a result of this situation, we will have no choice but to involve our attorney. I have attached documentation.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Although the delay in confirming cancellation of the **** should never have taken so long, and my phone calls to the Inn should have been responded to.
