March 2023 I received a letter from KCS debt collector about a bill from Valley Pool and Spa *** ******* *** Hanford. The original debt was stated from September 30, 2021. I contacted the debt collector about the charge to gather more information and requested all statements sent to me. The debt collector reached out to the business, and I was provided a statement from 2021. I then asked for record of how I was contacted to inform me of a debt. I was told by Valley Pool and Spa we keep no records of contacting you to let you know that a bill is due. I cancelled service due to uneducated workers and not getting my pool cleaned, which is what they were hired to do. I asked the individual for his name to record in my notes that i contacted them and he stated, "You do not need to know my name and I am not giving it to you". I am contacting a business to satisfy a supposed debt. Why would you not give me your name if this is a reputable place of business? I am just trying to get information about the supposed debt and attempts to reach me to satisfy the debt. The individual stated that it was Turned over to KCS last year however when I replayed that information to KCS they stated that they received it in March 2023. Why wasn't I contacted prior to 18 months after a bill was not paid?

What I am seeking is how and when I was contacted to let me know there was still a bill and why did it take 18 months to go to collections? The person who wouldn't give me his name said that it goes to collections in 6 months. It seems very shady!
