    I took my car into Ervin's Automotive on Saturday, April 15, 2023, to see if they can get my air conditioning working properly (no cold air was coming out). A mechanic started testing it and poking around the engine, trying various tests. When he was finished, the car could not start. I had to leave it and until now, it's not been fixed. I keep calling there every other day to check the status but, the owner (*****) has various excuses, i.e., not enough workers, very busy, he has to look for a part from a local source. I've been having to use Lyft, ride share service and it's costing me a lot of money. By the way, I called last Friday 04/28/2023 and the part-time worker told me the owner was not available, he can't be reached, no phone number to call him on. I want my car fixed and running in proper order so I can drive again. It seems, this owner doesn't want to fix my car because it will cost him to repair it. Please help.     TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

    *************** to complaint ID#******** that was filed against my business. On April 15th, 2023 *********************** came into our repair shop with issues pertaining to his air conditioning not working. He stated that his mechanic  just put in a used engine in the car and that he charged the a/c unit.  We checked the A/C and we noticed that the compressor wasn't engaging. Our mechanic disconnected the air conditioning electrical connectors and he tested it with the test lights and he noticed that there was no electrial power going through. We then advised the customer that we would need more time to find the problem and we wouldn't be able to get to the job until 3 to 4 days  because we were short handed. ****************** was standing next to me the entire time while my mechanic was testing the wires. He said that he would bring his car back in the middle of the week so that we could continue to check further and fix the problem. My mechanic reconnected the wires and closed the hood. I sat in the car to start the car and it woudn't start anymore. ****************** called his mechanic and he checked the vehicle and he tried to change some relays but he couldn't start it either. When we looked at the vehicle we noticed that the starter was dragging and we replaced it. We then  checked and noticed that there was no communication with the **** The vehicle is out of state and will possibly need an **** At this moment we are in the process of looking for one. We don't feel that we are responsible because we did not do any work with engine or wiring. We have been in business for over ******************************************************************************************************* new.

    The owner of the business, and his mechanics, tried to ***** the air conditioning why it was not connecting to bring cold air. In doing so, he caused the computer in the car to stop working. It sat in his business for over four weeks and the owner kept making excuses why he wasn't able to repair it until he received a letter from the Better Business Bureau.  On Friday May 12, 2023, I received a call from the owner of the company (*************************) that a part was arriving and he should have it fixed by Monday of the following week.  I received a call from the owner on Monday May 15, 2023 that my car will be repaired by the end of the day and I can pick it up.  I wasn't able to pick it up until Tuesday May 16, 2023.  ***** told the cost of repair was $576.46 for the parts.  I shouldn't have had to pay this amount, since the car was in fine condition prior to bringing it to this automotive shop. I am asking for a refund, because I also had to use Lyft ride service during the time my car was in his shop.  Ervin's Automotive, caused my car to stop running and yet I had to pay for it to be repair. There is something definitely wrong here. They are not accepting responsibility.

    I writing to ***************** most recent response. As i stated before, we don't belive we are responsible. When I started it i already felt that the starter had an issue and it was dragging. The a/c electrical wire testing can not cause computer burnout. We just used  regular test lights and we noticed we didn't have any current going to the A/C. I told **** that I needed more time to find out what's causing this problem with the A/C. After this, the car wouldn't start anymore. I offered him to take it somewhere else because i was short on help. He told me no problem and that he could wait. After we installed the starter we needed more time to find out what's causing  the starting problem. After I found out that it needed a computer, i had to find one and it took me 1 week. The only place that had the computer was located out of town 100 miles away. I charged on the parts only what i paid and I did not charge any labor. I still believe that we are not responsible. We are looking to have this issue  resolved soon.

    I took my car in to Ervin's Automotive (on the recommendation of a friend).  They were supposed to see why the air conditioning was not getting cold.  The owner, (*****) had one of his mechanics, start checking on it and in the course blew the computer system out.  After almost three weeks with my car in his shop, I contacted the BBB with this complaint. After the owner received the complaint from the BBB, he called me to tell me he will be receiving the parts he needed.  When I went to pick up the car on May, 16, 2023, he charged me for the parts, that were more than $500.00.  This shop, broke the car and has charged me to repair it. This business is responsible to pay for something, they broke.  I only paid because, I wanted my car back and if didn't pay, I thought, he may not let me have it back. During the course of not being able to use my car, I had to use Lyft ride share service for a 4 weeks, I should also be reimbursed for that as well. This business owner, is not showing any remorse nor integrity.   I want this business owner to refund me for the parts he charged me for and all my Lyft rides for a month.
