I was forced to purchase ****** as an add-on to a car purchase at a dealer over a year ago, being told that they installed it on all vehicles in their lot due to incidents of theft. I suspect they had an arrangement w/ Lojack. I signed a 3 year contract. A few months ago the car was stolen. ****** informed me that they had not been tracking the vehicle since July. Apparently nobody monitors customer accounts and there is no automated notification when communication w/ the transponder is lost. Perhaps it is no coincidence that this occurred just after ******'s parent company CalAmp filed for bankruptcy in summer 2024.Anyway...attempts to restore communication w/ the vehicle were futile. A few days later the car was crashed and recovered by police. Repair/tow/storage/rental fees totaled several thousand dollars. Not to mention the time and stress. I informed LoJack of the vehicle recovery and got an email that my case was closed. There was no follow-up about installing a new transponder. I remain w/o service.I contacted Claims about the $10,000 payment for stolen vehicles that Lojack is unable to recover. I was told that because the vehicle was recovered, even though LoJack was unable to assist, I was not eligible for payment. I was also told that Claims is not part of LoJack and that any other request for restitution be directed to LoJack. An email to customer service requesting someone in management instead took me to tech support, where I was told that they were my last resort (apparently there IS no ******************* I requested a refund of my $1000+ contract payment due to breach of contract and was told that it had been my responsibility to monitor that my transponder was working. Huh? I asked how anybody would ever be eligible for the $10,000 if the customer was responsible for the monitoring. No response. I asked what the circumstances were for the last payout (if any). No response.Just get the Club instead. Save $ and avoid CalAmp businesses.
