Altair installed our solar. we have a leak. we brought out a roofing company for an estimate. They indicted this is due to the solar panel installation and the panels need to be removed to be able to repair the affected area. I've emailed numerous people at Altair. I have yet to hear back. I try calling and it doesn't seem like their phone numbers work anymore. I went to their office today, (9/24), and there is a new business in their space listed on their website. Solar contract guarantees their work. More than happy to take this to court or arbitration.Initial Complaint

I entered into a solar installation agreement on August 30, 2023. I had a fire inspection in May 2024 and it did not pass. They had to move the batteries. The last time they were here was June 2024. These activities need to be completed: fire inspection, replacement of damaged battery parts from the move, better attachment of batteries to my house wall, final electrical hook up, and final inspections. I have attempted to contact the company at least 10 times via voice mail and email. I get an automated email indicating the company is experiencing staff and resource difficulties. I cannot use my investment in this heat wave! I heard from the salesperson that an electrician stated there only needs to be one more day of work to complete the job. Currently there are electrical wires lying on the ground. Can you please help me?Initial Complaint

Hello. I signed a contract to have 4 back up batteries installed to my existing solar system. The contract was signed in May and we had an install date for August 19, 2024. However, no one showed up and attempts to contact the company's owner and business by phone and emails have failed.Initial Complaint

I have tried reaching this company for two days. I have six different people and have left messages because my panels are not working properly and I have received a $800 from Southern California ******* No one has called me back. I'm trying to find out if they are still in business and when they can resolve the problem with my panels.Initial Complaint

- We have a roof leak from one of the solar installation points.- Emailed, got no response. (2 days pass)- Called and receptionist simply said she'll forward it to the "service ****** and gave me the name and number of someone else to call (*****). (no response from "service ******)- Texted *****, no response (1 day passes)- Called *****, no answer, no response - ************** no answer (1 day passes)- *************** no response They are clearly just avoiding the work because they know that a roof leak is urgent (it's leaking now!) and if they wait it out, I have to get it repaired by someone else, which violates their warranty terms. ZERO ethics in their business... just take your money and disappear.Business Response

The workers were installing solar panels on my neighbors property. They dropped tools on to my jacuzzi cover. It damaged the jacuzzi cover. Also, they pushed the joining fence and caused the damage on my fence. I have contacted them multiple times. After a month later, they are denying to reimburse me for my fence. They are requesting a receipt for my jacuzzi cover. Due to significant amount of time that they delayed and failing to follow up with calls right away, I cant trust that they will pay me. The replacement of jacuzzi cover is $794.00 plus tax.Business Response
Date: 02/27/2024
As per our communication with you, we agreed to pay for the Jacuzzi cover replacement since this was damaged by our crew by mistake. We never worked on your property as we were installing on your neighbors house not yours and as documented by pictures from our crew, the fence was previously damaged so we are not responsible for fixing this issue as it was not caused by our crew.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Early in 2023 started solar project on our home in **************$30,926 paid to date. Another $7,000 due upon completion of the project.System became operational a few days ago. About the same time we received notice of a lien on our home filed by Greentech Renewables. They claim Altair never paid them $17,073.25 plus interest since November 2023.Business Response

As per our communication with you, there was an error in accounting from our end that casued this lien to be placed. We promised you that this will be corrected an indeed we took care of it right away. The lien had been released more than two weeks ago now so there is no reason for filling a complaint.Customer Answer

The bookkeeping mistake is a cover story. **** at Altair told me there were several liens filed by green tech, because Altair had not paid them.

This could be simply gross incompetent business practice.. Altair gets equipment, installs it in a customer's house, and just doesn't get around to paying for it. However, as I hear from other solar customers, it seems failing to pay suppliers until the suppliers file liens on the solar company customers is all too common. moreover, we need to know whether there is a pattern in the customers, ********************** companies leave exposed to these liens. Are elderly disabled customers like me singled out that for that kind of abuse? We will only know that answer after the elder abuse, and the *** investigators have finished their work .

Altair installed a solar system at my home two years ago. Part of the contract was that I would have service Maintenance covered at no additional cost. As of June 26, 2022, 1/3 of my solar system has not been working correctly or at all. I let them know a few weeks after that when I discovered it through an app that is connected to the solar system. I had to call multiple times to finally get a response and it took several weeks for them to send somebody. They were unable to resolve the issue and said they would get back to me. It has been months now multiple emails and phone calls and still no resolution to the situation. Unfortunately they are the only ones that can service my system. I am stuck with high electric bills that I should not have.Business Response

We attempted to resolve this issue but the consumer contacted another company to address the issue which violates our warranty terms. We might have been slow to respond to the consumer due to him reaching out to us in the middle of the summer which is typically a very busy season for us, but we tried to resolve the issue multiple times before we found out that someone else is working on from a different company. Also the consumer stopped responding to our inquires about this, so we also stopped the communication from our end.Initial Complaint

On Octob? 2021, Altair came to install 3 more panel to my existing solar (installed 2019) and battery (installed May 2020). At that time they messed up with the wires, system was I reverted feed to main meter in which it never export extra energy produced for solar to grid for my credit as it usually was in the past. As the result, I got full charge fro SCE which cost me $1,900 last year cycle. This year cycle, up to now for first 3 months, I got billed $350 per month. I contact led them to repair with all proofs (SCE bills show th. Was wrong start from November 2021 right after they came to do work at my house). Altair Solar just simply denied and responsibility, denied to fix the problem, leaving me pay $350 per month as if I was never installed $40,000 Solar/battery system. They use the reason that warranty was void from the time battery was installed at my house in May 2020; however, everything was work fine at that time until Altair came to my house and touch my system on October 2021. They are lacking of business ethic and sympathy for a frustrated customer who have to pay full cost of electrical after paid $40,000 solar system due to their mistakesBusiness Response

Unfortunately your side of the story is not correct. We did not touch any of the existing wiring when we added the panels, all the work was done on the roof. What you failed to mention is that the company that installed your battery and changed all our wiring is the one that missed up the connection that might have caused this issue. As was stated in the contract you signed with us, if someone changes anything on your installed system without notifying us, that voids your warranty. Despite that fact we sent someone to look at the system free of charge and when we found out that the company that installed the battery caused the issue, we communicated with you that you will need to pay to get this fixed, you refused and now you are resorting to bad reviews and complaints to get a free service.
