He came and replaced two broken legs on a buffet. One of the replacements is crooked and looks broken. It isnt aligned with the back of the buffet. We asked for a refund for the leg, but he didnt respond. He glued a piece back on a china cabinet but chipped the wood in the process. I will update the review if he gives me a refund for the buffet leg.I will also be filing a complaint on BBB and yelp.

    Business Response

    Hi,

I did this job and replaced the legs with no issues during the visit.  I have not been contacted by the client on any issues they had until I received your email.   The buffet in question was in rough shape before I installed the legs and I don't believe I caused any of the damage to it they claim I did.  As far as I know the buffet has been laying on the ground in their house for at least a year which I believe is the cause of any issues with the buffet.  They were  very difficult to deal with because they refused to be in the room with me because they are scared of catching COVID.  Don't know what they want me to do since they have not contacted me as of yet for any refund.

As for the piece on the china cabinet,  the chip was from when the piece broke off originally and not from what I did to it.  I do not feel that a complaint is justified for any of these issues.

    Thanks,

I am rejecting this response because:

You say that this is the first you heard of this issue, but we posted on Yelp before here, and you responded.

We are attaching photos of the piece that you glued back onto our china cabinet. The first photo shows my partner holding the loose piece up to the china cabinet. It wasnt chipped. Your first attempt at attaching the loose piece resulted in it being very crooked, as shown in the second photo. You can also see in the photo that it wasnt chipped after your first attempt at installation. You came back and reattached it and damaged it, yet its still not aligned properly. No one touched the piece of the china cabinet but you. Theres no one you can try to blame for your terribly crooked and damaging repair there. The evidence shows that you werent able to make a simple repair without it being crooked.

Since you were unable to glue on a piece of a china cabinet correctly, which is one of the most simple repairs, it seems dishonest that you are insisting that the leg that you attached to the buffet is also not crooked. We have proof in the photos that the leg is crooked. It doesnt line up with the back of the buffet and was installed at an angle. It wasnt damaged when the buffet was placed upright. The mover has excellent reviews, while you have negative reviews all over the internet. The second leg you replaced is cracked and is as likely as the first leg to break. We are attaching a photo of the cracked leg and the damage to the buffet where you installed the cracked leg.

We deserve for you to give us a full $600 refund for the crooked leg, cracked leg, and for someone else to fix your damage of our furniture. The proof is all here in the photos.

Our next steps are to post reviews and photos of your work all over the internet, including your business pages and ******** groups. Then, we will file suit where you may have to pay our legal fees and court costs in addition to the refund.

Your poor-quality work is not disputable and is shown in the photos. Please send a full refund with the Zelle information that we texted to you.
