I trusted ***** ****** of Unlimited Construction with a substantial construction project, providing a substantial deposit. Unfortunately, after securing the funds, ***** failed to commence the construction as promised. Instead of fulfilling the contractual obligations, she offered a series of excuses for the delays and ultimately refused to refund the deposit. This has left me not only without the completed construction but also significantly out of pocket due to her deceptive practices. I urge anyone considering doing business with Unlimited Construction to exercise extreme caution, as their actions reflect a scam operation that fails to deliver on promises and absconds with hard-earned money.

Hi Mr *************** you provide us with more information.  Whats the invoice number that we apparently signed? What date? Whats the projects address?

I dont have any invoices nor bids on my system with your name. In addition, I have never taken any funds from no one and walk out of a project.  Moreover, when I underbid a job I prefer to lose money  then to lose a client.

I would love to find out who took your funds.

lets work together to find the perpetrator that walked with your funds

I have a great memory and I always remember my clients by name

I dont recall ever meeting a Mr ******

We contracted this business to install an alumawood patio cover, opting to do the work through a licensed contractor with the understanding that they would do all work in accordance with codes and requirements. During the process, due to Unlimited Construction's failure to perform their work properly the first time, the inspector was required to return for an additional inspection prior to approval. This negligence caused additional inspection charges, which could have been avoided had the contractor done the work properly. Now, they wish to bill us for the additional inspection despite the fact it was their fault. We offered to split the cost with them in an attempt to avoid further frustration but they have refused.

    Hi *******,

As discussed, prior, unlike every city we have worked with before, Riverside County works on a deposit based only system. Unfortunately, this means they have up to 6 months after final inspection to send the final invoice. From the beginning we stated that permits are not included in estimated price, and then again in the invoice when you decided to move forward with us. (We will attach invoice below). Once we were aware on the Riverside County's extra fees, we even went on to enquire what all the additional fees were for, talked to their billing supervisors on your behalf and even provided you with an itemized statement showing everything they charged for. We have been cc'ing you throughout this process, provided the supervisor numbers with whom we talked to, (please let us know if you would like copies of these emails in which you have been CC'ed). I know these fees came out of the blue and are quite unfortunate, especially since the project was only for a patio cover. Liked discussed before, this is the first time we have ever received an additional invoice. We are assuming it was due to COVID and everyone working from home during this time that attached extra work fees were included, which made invoice fees go up.  Riverside County did say you can sit with them and go over every cost with you if you'd like, but an additional fee would be added to the invoice, you decided to opt out of that offer a couple months ago.  We unfortunately were not able to get rid of all the additional costs, but we were able to lower it for you from $516.19 to $482.42, (We will include the itemized statement as well). You also mentioned the inspector having to come back a second time. It has been our experience over time that no 2 inspectors are the same. Every now and then, you will get an inspector that asks more of you that the others. Usually yes, we pass the first time but every so often that is not the case. This is why we mention to our clients that yes, we hope to pass the first time, but once in a while an inspector will have to come back for a simple correction that they would like to see fixed before giving the all clear.  Usually, they do not charge extra for this. Regrettably at this time, we cannot meet you halfway and pay half of the invoice like you requested. We have been emailing back and forth since before May of 2022, which has given you ample of time to get this invoice resolved since then. Riverside County and ourselves would like to move forward and get this resolved at this time. Only thing we can offer you now if giving you an extra day to pay before going to the city to record the lien on the house since it has taken us a while to respond here on BBB.

    Thank you,

    **** *****

I am rejecting this response because:. There was never any agreement or discussion of additional fees.  When we were told the cost of the permit it was presented as a one time expense (which it would have been if the contractor had done the work properly.  We will pay the bill under duress and continue to fight it as well as ensuring as much as possible that we warn people about this unfair business.
