    Date of Reservation and finalized the contract: January 22, 2024 Actual Event Date: May 11, 2024 from 12pm-3pm Cost of Venue and Catering: $3410.52 for 35 people outdoor venue I requested a meeting with ****** on March 22nd to go over the details of the bridal shower and address any questions we had. We decided on the color choice of the linens, as well the food and beverage. ****** confirmed that a week prior to the event, she will give me a call to finalize the setup of the outdoor venue, based on the weather. In case it rains or if it gets too hot, she will let us know to get us umbrellas. I never got a call from ******. I called her and left three messages 10 days prior to the event, sent her emails to follow-up the final details of the event, but never got a response. By the time I got a hold of her, it was two days prior to the event, and all I got was we are all set!Day of event, 11:00am, I got to the outdoor venue. The tables and linens were setup but the table napkins were still in plastics. ****************, the catering people will set them up when they get there at 1:00pm. The venue was only from 12:00pm-3:00pm. In the heat of the noonday sun, at 82 degrees, I requested for umbrellas. ****** said that they don't have any umbrellas but she could call the rental company. She asked if I want to rent them. I said yes since I was concerned with health issues. Rental place was booked. She couldn't get any umbrellas from their property either. With our persistence since the umbrellas by the pool weren't being used, we asked ****** if she could provide them for us. She said she can't because they are only for pool use for paying customers. We are also paying customers! In the end they were able to secure 3 umbrellas for 7 tables when I complained to the owner of Purple Orchid! My guests were very unhappy, they were all pitching in to move the umbrellas whenever ****** said they don't have people to move the umbrellas! As the event manager, her attitude was very unprofessional and unaccommodating! For a reputable wedding venue and an Event Manager, all she showed me and my guests were very unacceptable professional behavior.What we did not received from the promised conversations were:- Fruit infused water (When I asked for it, I was told to get water from the lobby since there was water there!)- Service charge for four people of $160 (When I questioned this, I was told, it takes four people to serve, to set up, and to break down.) All there was one person to serve, setup and breakdown. No one set up the napkins, but the event manager herself!This event was supposed to be a wonderful celebration but was a total frustration and disgusts from how we were treated! As an event manager, the primary goal was supposed to make sure that your guests will have a wonderful experience! This was a hard earned money that I spent for my niece's bridal shower and have a very memorable and wonderful memory. This was all a wasted time spent and I am so hurt and disappointed! Granted I paid on a small scale in comparison to the amount of wedding venue they have at this property. Nevertheless, that's not an excuse to treat us with no respect and regard for why we were there. I am requesting for a refund of the venue costs of $1800 as most of the disappointments and dissatisfaction came from the Event Manager. The food was okay but not to have their promised fruit infused water in the heat of the day was not acceptable at all!
