We had a HVAC unit installed in an office the unit came with a warranty and we purchased a monthly maintenance package. We never received the last couple months of maintenance. We called the company to come back out and look at the unit. They said they would not honor the call as part of the missed visits. After speaking with the company owner in person we were under assumption they were going to finally come out for free. They came out and are now trying to charge us for the visit. They will not warranty the unit stating the condensation pump was wired wrong when they are the ones who installed it and we have that receipt. While onsite the tech called his office telling them of the problem and suggesting the previous tech from that company screwed it up. Now it seems as they are trying to cover it up saying we did it. The unit is under warranty which makes it only serviceable by their company since they installed it. The unit has been tested by there tech and claims it works but has a slight leak. Instead of a quote to repair they sent a quote to replace the whole system with no warranty. They claim the unit could be damaged from still running with low refrigerant when the units are equipped with safety devices to shut them down to prevent damage in those kind of situations. We do not want any more work performed by this company but ask that the service charge that they are requesting be waived since we have already paid for a maintenance package that they would not fulfill. They have stated they will only waive the charge of $129.00 if we pay them $7,054.00 fully replace the system which again is not broken. Most states would consider this a form of extortion.
