I sent a money order of $205 , my master's degree certificate and transcript to APIE on Dec. 6th. Friday, including $100 3-business day rush fee. As they emailed me "if we receive everything by next Monday, the evaluation will be mailed out next Thursday"(misleading), and I did need it soon. After that, with their guidance, I started applying for verification of my degree through ****(*******************************************, *********************, P.R. *****).Then I knew it actually took 18 days to verify my degree. I also need to pay to translate my transcript into English and submit it to ****. Plus I had to bother my 70+ year old parents to do the scanning and international mailing of the Chinese version of my degree. Besides the $205 money order, I had to pay at least another $500 to do the translation and notarization. So I decided to take the *** test instead, and applied to cancel my verification at **** and got the refund the next day. In Dec. 6th.'s email, A.P.I.E noted "the three-business day rush starts the day we receive everything including the **** verification". So I asked for a refund from A.P.I.E. But they refused. I asked why, ***-the lady contacted me, said because she spent time replying to my emails. I told her I was more than happy to pay her $50 for her effort. She said it was their company's policy that once they received the applicant's document, they never gave a refund. I contacted their director *****. She said they already started the evaluation. I mentioned their note in the email but ***** said once they received the applicant's documents the evaluation process started. I tried to rate this business, then noticed I could not find it from ****** map. I could not find their address from their website. I trusted this business at first because it was on the list of approved agencies from the State of **********************************************. I hadn't received any evaluation service, why I could not get my money back?
