I believe they are scam business. I started a contract with them in December to build a digital website. There were numerous problems getting it up and running. Finally in May it was online. I did not check it each day. In August I checked the website it was not functional. It took days to get a response in which they told me it had been hacked. They said they would recover it for $1350. The original cost. I told the administrator that I wanted my domain moved to *******. They pressured me to stay with them, which was almost harassment. I said no and that I wanted to have the domain moved. For a week I get promises that it will get moved, but I cannot get a transfer code to move the domain. I consider them holding my web domain a theft. I paid for two years of their server and am willing to eat that, but not being able to move my domain is preventing me from getting my business up and running again. Phone conversations are full of lies and promises. I have saved all of my email and text messages. The administrator is **** ***** if that is his name. I just want my domain moved now and for others to not be scammed like I was by this company. My domain is **************** I cannot get a transfer code, but **** says I will get it. I am only accepting written communication from him.

I hired the American Web Designers Inc. and paid 1500 dollars to build a website on behalf of my Nephew who passed away. Their contract reads one year hosting and 100 percent ownership rights. After a year I noticed the website is live. I contacted the company and asked them for full ownership or to delete the website because I hired a web designer locally to work on a brand new website. After numerous phone calls and arguments, I was given a username and password, but not full ownership. As I tried to access the website they changed the username and password and I couldn't log back in. This company is unprofessional and a scam. Not only they refused to give me ownership rights, this company is using my website to collect donations and fraudulently using my website to make a profit. This situation is causing me not to move forward with my business because of their fraudulent activity.

I paid them to do my website and they have not given me access to my webmail and my backside to access my own website (cPanel) I want access to my website! No one answers me and when they do they continue to provide the wrong information, we have tried with several people I even had to hire another web designer to try and fix the issue and it costs me an additional 2k and the problem was not resolved because he could not provide the correct information. They even send me a ******* video of them accessing it with the credentials (blacked out so I couldn't even see it) and at the same time we tried it and it did not work. They refuse to answer my calls or emails it's been 6 months I have not accessed the email.

SCAM ALERT. This company scams you out of services that you don't need or they are unwilling or unable to provide. It is very difficult to get a hold of the account manager assigned after you get thru the sales process. Other potential businesses should be aware that they will be charged for products and services that you don't need, and those that are needed can be taken down anytime, such as my website. I had to file a complaint with American Express to get my money back.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against American Web Designers Inc regarding the uncompleted website design and hosting services. The company unjustly refuses to refund my payments for those services. I engaged American Web designers in December 2022 to design a website for my newly established nonprofit organization.Despite providing the company with ample information and making the required payment for the website development, I have faced significant challenges throughout this process. Regrettably, my experience with American Web Designers Inc has been characterized by a lack of communication, unmet expectations, and, most concerningly, an apparent refusal to fulfill their contractual obligations.Throughout the duration of our engagement, I have had minimal interaction with the assigned web designers. When they did communicate, the options presented consistently fell short of my vision for the website. Furthermore, the design iterations provided were not only infrequent but also failed to demonstrate a genuine understanding of the project requirements. In an attempt to address the issue, I contacted the company in the fall of 2023 after ****, the assigned web designer, assured me he would follow up on the status of my site. To my surprise, I was informed that additional funds were required for any progress to be made on my website. This demand for additional payment was not part of our initial agreement, and, more importantly, it was not communicated to me in a transparent manner. In light of these circumstances, I find it both unjust and unethical that American Web Designers Inc refuses to refund the payment made for hosting services. Not only did they fail to deliver a completed website, but they also insisted on additional payments for services that were initially included in our agreement. This situation has resulted in financial loss, as American Web Designers Inc effectively has taken over $600 from me without providing the promised services.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/28/2024

    Dear *************************,

We appreciate your engagement with the Better Business Bureau and the opportunity to respond to your concerns. Case ID ********.

We acknowledge your detailed feedback and understand the importance of your nonprofit organization's website. We regret any frustration caused during our collaboration and would like to provide additional context to the issues raised.

Our team diligently worked on the website design as per the initial agreement. However, certain aspects, such as hosting and maintenance, were identified as essential for the optimal performance and security of your website. To address these needs, we proposed additional services with transparently outlined costs.

Regarding your concerns about communication and design iterations, we sincerely apologize for any lapses. We recognize the importance of effective communication and have implemented measures to enhance this aspect of our service.

In response to the chargeback and refund, we want to clarify that the services, including hosting and maintenance, were duly provided as per our revised agreement. Evidence demonstrating the scope expansion and the corresponding agreement for additional services was presented during the chargeback dispute. We are pleased to inform you that we successfully defended our position.

We remain committed to delivering a website that aligns with your vision. If there are specific aspects that require further attention, please let us know, and we'll do our utmost to address them promptly.

We appreciate your understanding and the opportunity to continue working together towards the successful completion of your nonprofit organization's website.

I am rejecting this response because:

I paid $600 for a website and host services and have received nothing. The business has offered to do my site, since me contacting the bbb and send it to me, however since then they have once again ghosted me, and I have not heard from them or received anything. This business is a scam and as a veteran starting a new veteran nonprofit this is an insult. I respectfully, request a full refund.

    Sincerely,
