I give zero I too had to deal with the owner.. I brought my 2012 Kia optima steering knuckle in to have the herring replaced after buying the only bearing in 100miles for 80$at Napa auto I asked if he could push out the old one( witch I replaced myself but due to not having the right tools had a slight, very slight wobble at 60-80 mph I figured a shop would have the proper tools, mind you I was charged 20 to have it repressed and the hub inserted )and press in the new one.now this should only take at the most an hour if you are having issues… but I dropped it off with him at 8:30 and had to call at 1 in the after noon to see about my part.
He said he would charge 30 to 40 bucks and when I went to pick it up, he charge me 50. I’ve been installed it properly and went to get off my toolbox and press my hand against the tire. The tire had a severe wobble more so than the bearing that was in there already I brought it back and he tried telling me that they’re needed to be preload on the bearing even though I had to tighten it with my DeWalt, 20 V impact, and he proceeded to tell me that it was missing other parts. We went onto the car data that he has, and looked at the diagram, and there was no other parts that was missing. He then proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t torqued down properly and gave me a torque wrench. I then videoed myself installing it again talking it down and again it’s still have the same issue, I brought it back. He said that that he had no liability in it and that the bearing was the wrong one. I am 34 and have been working on vehicles since I was 13. I would like to think that I know a little bit about working on vehicles and when I asked him what tools he used he proceeded to tell me he used my old bearing. Instead of the proper tools like a bearing press kit or ball joint kit. After arguing with him he gave me my money back for labor and part and told me to get off his property and that I wasn’t aloud back he is a horrible mechanic
