    I purchased a **** caret Chatham sapphire from Africa Gems at a good price on Dec 10, 2023. I got an email the next morning saying my order was cancelled. I emailed and called to inquire why. I got an email response from an Africa Gem associate saying "Hi, your funds were refunded and order cancelled as we had a pricing issue on that product with our database. Sorry about that"In their store policies page (***************************************************************************) under Pricing Policy it reads "AfricaGems will contact you right away to notify you of this error and will issue a discount coupon towards the purchase of another item."Africa Gems neither contacted me right away notifying me of an error (I had to call them) and I never received a discount coupon towards the purchase of another item. For a store which sells gems stones for tens of thousands and prides itself for never having a BBB complaint I find this to be very poor customer service.

    This person indeed purchased a gemstone whose price was incorrect due to a database error. He contacted me about his coupon at midnight my time. We responded to his email when our office opened the next morning and told him the site has a sitewide sale now which he can take advantage of or if he wanted a coupon to use at a later day he should contact us for one. We never heard from him. Not sure why he would contact BBB about this?

    I am very impressed with this business's integrity and customer service. I have placed three orders with them. The first one I had to cancel, and the gentleman I spoke to did so very politely with no problems. The second, I was impressed with the quality of the gem I received from them and the packaging. Shipping was a bit slow to ******, but not a big deal. The third order appears to have been lost in the mail, and they gave me a refund after some investigation. They inspire confidence and I would definitely order from them again.
