Date of Transaction: June 18, 2024 Amount Paid: $1,200 ($600 for two consulting sessions, $600 for resume revisions and profile updates)Business Commitment: Enlightened Career Solutions (ELCS) promised a professionally crafted resume by certified experts, personalized and ATS-optimized, with direct communication with senior writers, and recordings of all consultations.Nature of Dispute: ELCS outsourced my resume to an unqualified individual in *****, leading to inaccurate and misleading content. Despite paying for consulting sessions, I was pushed into a career pivot unrelated to my goals. When I asked for credentials to prepare for this pivot, they had nothing to offer, exposing their lack of expertise. During an interview, I was called out for false information on my resume, which prompted my complaints. **** claimed I approved the lies during recorded calls, yet refused to provide the recordings, using them instead as leverage. In reality, I consistently rejected these falsehoods, as confirmed in our email exchanges. ******, who was tasked with my resume, admitted in an email that he was underpaid, lacked qualifications, and worked in Chinadirectly contradicting ***** claims of using certified experts. **** also tried to upsell me on a spam resume application program, further eroding my trust. These actions not only wasted two months of my time, robbed me with lies, but also severely damaged my professional reputation. ***** continued dishonesty and refusal to provide a refund or rectify their mistakes show a clear pattern of unethical behavior. Despite multiple requests, **** has ignored my demands for a resolution, including a full refund. I have all relevant emails to support these claims.

I’ve reviewed the claims you made, and I want to address each point clearly.

Service Delivery: Contrary to your allegations, we delivered every service included in our agreement. Your resume was crafted by a certified expert, and all communications, including consultations, were handled with the utmost professionalism. Every step of the process was documented, and at no point was your resume outsourced to anyone unqualified or outside our team.

Consultations and Career Guidance: The career pivot we discussed was a result of our professional assessment and was aimed at aligning with your long-term goals. You were fully informed during our sessions, and your positive feedback during this process is documented in our communication.

False Information on Resume: Any claims of false information on your resume are unfounded. The details were thoroughly reviewed and approved by you, as evidenced in our recorded calls and email exchanges. Your attempt to discredit this process now is a clear attempt to backtrack and avoid payment for services rendered.

Credentials and Expertise: Your claim that we lack credentials or expertise is entirely unfounded. Our team consists of professionals who are fully qualified to provide the support you needed for your career transition. The details of our hiring practices are internal matters that do not concern you, and I assure you, we do not outsource any work outside of our trusted team.

Refund and Threats: It’s evident from your recent communications that you’ve shifted your stance in an effort to obtain a refund through unfounded claims. Your threat to damage our reputation if we didn’t comply with your demands only reinforces the unethical nature of your approach.

We’ve been in business for four years, and while we always strive to support our clients, we will not be bullied into providing free services based on false accusations. This type of behavior is detrimental to small businesses and should be subject to legal consequences.

    Customer Answer

Your response to my complaint is filled with inaccuracies and outright lies. Let me list them for you:

    1. Service Delivery: My resume was handled by an unqualified individual in China, which contradicts your claim of using certified experts. This was confirmed in an email from your own team member.

    2. Consultations: I was pushed into a career pivot unrelated to my goals, with no credible guidance provided. When I asked for specific credentials, you offered none, exposing your lack of expertise.

    3. False Information: I never approved the false information on my resume. You claim I did during recorded calls, yet you have repeatedly refused to provide these recordings, which suggests you are lying about their content.

    4. Credentials: Your refusal to provide clear, actionable guidance or credentials during our sessions, and the outsourcing of work to someone unqualified, proves the lack of professionalism.

    5. Refund and Threats: I’m not “backtracking” to avoid payment; I’m seeking a refund because your services were subpar, unprofessional, and damaging to my career. Your accusations are a deflection from the truth.

Your continued dishonesty further proves the validity of my claims. I stand by my request for a full refund and expect a satisfactory resolution, or I will continue to pursue this matter through all available channels.

    Business Response

Here's my response to the false claims:

    1.Service Delivery:

(This professional that you claim is not qualified has worked on thousands of resumes. I trained them myself, and they have been a part of our team for over three years, helping countless clients. Saying they are not qualified with zero proof and without looking into their background just shows the weakness of your false claims.)

    2.Consultations:

(Again, this is false and not true. This is clearly shown during our recorded calls, and you, in fact, thanked me many times for guiding you and helping you identify your next career step with confidence.)

    3.False Information:

(A total of 4 hours and 47 minutes were dedicated to assisting the client when he only paid for 2 hours. The calls are the property of Enlightened and will only be released by a court order. In regard to false information, I quote Keith: "I don't personally think that's a big deal to lie about timing," as he is referring to his work history. Throughout the calls, I made it clear to Keith that we make the recommendation, but it's his call at the end of the day on what to include or exclude from his resume, and this is all documented.)

    4.Credentials:

(False claim. From day one of us working together, Keith never once asked for any of my credentials, and this is clearly shown in all the transcripts.)

    5.Refund and Threats:

(False. If you didn't approve our services, why did you use our resume to actively apply to jobs? The answer to that question is simple: it's because you read and approved the resume and were more than fine presenting yourself in the way the resume presented you.)

In good faith and in an effort to show BBB that we at Enlightened are willing to make an effort towards a peaceful resolution, we will allow the client to submit his request for the changes he’d like to make, and we will make them for him, even after this client has actively tried to damage our brand.
