Our company starting working with CodeMetro, Inc. in 2020 (also known as WebABA and TherapyBrands, we are not even sure at this point which is most accurate as there have been so many changes). On March 22nd, 2023, we discovered that CodeMetro, who we had a written contract with to perform all insurance billing responsibilities, had not billed our clients' secondary insurances at all, despite the necessary information being readily available to them. This issue extended all the way back to 2020, meaning that by the time of discovery, the timely filing limit had passed on the majority of claims making them uncollectible. On March 23rd 2023, we spent time and resources gathering and sending over a comprehensive list of secondary insurance information to the CodeMetro employee assigned to our file to make it easier for them to submit the claims that had been ignored. No reason was given for why CodeMetro was not billing our secondaries to begin with. On March 27th, the employee said she would work through sending out the secondary claims to see if any could be collected, and later emailed suggesting that since most were past timely filing, we would just need to adjust off the lost amount as bad debt. On April 10th, we asked if we could receive a reimbursement for all of the claims that were missed, as this lost income was 100% preventable had CodeMetro upheld their end of our contract and carried out their responsibilities. As of April 21st, the employee assigned to our file resigned from CodeMetro without the secondary claims being sent as promised, and with no answers to the reimbursement request. We were then assigned a new billing team at CodeMetro who promised to complete the outstanding projects. We have continued to follow up asking for updates. As of June 26th, we have yet to receive a clear answer as to where our claims stand and if they will reimburse us the lost amount. They cancel meetings, ignore emails, and consistently fail to follow through.
