I was misquoted and I'm overcharged for an oil change perfomedd January 27, ****

      Business Response

      Date: 01/30/2024

The customer claims he was misquoted and overcharged, which was a lie.

The customer came in for an oil change and requested the ******************* Change Package, which prices were conspicuously displayed on the entry/exit bay door banner for our customers to see and make their choice (See attached)
Upon Checking out, the customer said that one of my technicians had told him a different price prior to his arrival, but all my technicians on duty denied ever giving him a different price outside our displayed price.

I explained to the customer that our ******************* change is $79.99 plus tax with up to 5 quarts of oil, as displayed on the banner he saw.
His truck takes 6.2 quarts of oil, so there is an extra charge for the 1.2 quarts; besides, his vehicle came with a special oil filter, which has an upcharge of $10.00. Also, we charge a $4.00 waste disposal fee and then tax. All this information is on the bay door banners for customers to see and decide.

So, I gave him a $5.00 discount to satisfy the customer. (See attached Invoice).
I tried to satisfy the customer to the best of my ability, but apparently, he was not. My apologies

I am rejecting this response because:

I spoke to an ******** male prior to coming in to do business I was assured I would pay ***** the only reason I came here was because the dealership would charge me $100 why would I go to a mom and pop shop to pay the same price upon arrival I was met with the individual who confirmed the price. He went om break the second I got there at approximately 3pm I would highly suggest tou speak to whoever handles the phone that day and whoever it was they took there lunch Saturday at 3pm as a business I recommend you record the calls for quality assurance and you must be held liable for what your employees are quoting out to customers.

He claimed he was quoted $79.99 out the door for a FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL change on his 2022 ****** Tacoma with a 3.5-litre 6-cylinder engine, but thats an impossible price. Our price quote for a fully synthetic oil change is $79.99 plus tax for up to 5 quarts of oil and a surcharge for extra quarts/ special oil filters if applicable; we also charge $4.00 for waste disposal fees.

On the day he visited my shop, we had six technicians on duty, and all denied telling any customer over the phone that he would pay $79.99 out the door using ******************** My technicians are trained to give customers pricing over the phone. We know that not all vehicles are the same regarding Oil change services. Thats why our general pricing is fully displayed at the entrance and exit of our building. No customer misses it.

I worked on his truck while he was standing watching me do my job; I even had to go out of my way to replace the air filter he had come with for free. Usually, we charge to install customers' air filters. I mentioned this to him and he thanked me.

I also cashed him out; during that time, he mentioned that he usually pays $100.00 at the dealer. I explained to him that we are not to be compared with the dealer, and he said he was told $79.99 over the phone; I explained that our fully synthetic oil change is $79.99 plus tax with up to 5 quarts of oil, surcharge for the extra 1.2 quarts and a special oil filter that his truck requires, also with a $4.00 Hazardous waste disposal fee. I gave him a discount, and he paid $103.00.  I told him we are Quick Lube; usually, Quick Lube changes the oil in minutes, not like the dealer, which takes hours.

My shop does not record calls; prices we quote over the phone are clearly and boldly displayed everywhere. We do not hide our prices.(No hidden Fees or Charges)
We take pride in our prices and the services we render. He can call any Quick Lube around and compare prices. At least one thing I know within our space and the **************/ ******************* is that no Quick Lube will charge him $79.99 out the door for his 2022 ****** Tacoma with a 3.5-litre 6-cylinder engine using a FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL, and not Synthetic or ******************* I Challenge him to shop around
