On 3/15/23 I went in to the Just harmony school located in *******************, and signed up for their CNA/HHA program. However, during that time I was finishing a workers compensation case where I ended up paying for all my services. As a result, I was looking to change careers from Social services to being a hospice CNA/HHA. Initially, I let ************* know I was finishing up my legal case and I told her I had limitations. I can only lift 20lbs **** I spoke with another school recently whilst requesting my refund, and the enrollment person let me know I needed to lift a min of 50lbs to be a CNA/HHA. In the letter not only did I request an extenuating circumstance refund for the full monies I paid, I never turned in a physical exam clearing me to even enroll in the program. I am not sure why ************* is refusing to refund my money she wants me to pay her the other ******* in order for me to complete her program. the initial enrollment checklist was never completed, I still have not Live scan or turned in the physical(I cannot pass). Even if I had five weeks to take the course. I am receiving AFDC, and they offered to pay for a CNA program at another school. One other important fact is I have facial piercings, and visible tattoos I work as a caregiver right now. I was just told Friday that I needed to change out my piercings or take them out. Because, the company had two clients refuse for me to take of them based on my appearance it makes them feel uncomfortable. Lastly, ************* never mentioned that in order for me to take the state exam I would need to tone down my look or take out my piercings where I look traditional. The CNA/HHA who works with my current client let me know her daughter had to use make up, and band aids to before being allowed to take the exam. I cannot work in the field my physical limitations will not allow me to pass the pre-hire physical exam. ************* failed to follow procedure, and she was misleading that I can even work.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/02/2024

e: Case # ******** Student's name ***************************, I read her complaint and there's no validity to her allegations, first of all tattoos and facial piercing removal is NOT a requirement of  testing sites prior to testing for the *******************, the two testing site that i refer my students to are ***********************, and TMU *************** because of the NATTAP Curriculum that is used for teaching, the testing sites only require that the students come in uniform, as far as where she have worked then maybe the policy of the employer.

Please see the attached letters of my response to *****'s letter of wanting to withdraw from the course, and as you can see i did offer her a course to take so that she would not loose the monies that she had put down as a deposit. She filled the enrollment agreement on March 15, 2023 for the class were to begin on March 27, 2023. She would contact us at the beginning of classes letting us know that she's still interested in the course, but on the July 17, 2023 that's when she told us that she was going to or have enrolled in another school and no-payment out of pocket.

Now as far as the company only method of payments being Money Orders, Cashier Checks, cash or Zelle payments, is what the company agreed upon. Now as far as her not being cleared by her Dr. i wasn't aware of that now the limitation the facilities has a zero- policies in placed that would be able to accommodate her limitation.
