on Match 27th, 2024 I attended karaoke night at the Siren, and arrived at 730 along with my friend A******, who is stage actor and a karaoke guy, we shared the drive. We had a steak flatbread pizza, I had a diet soda, then a glass of water, then a (drink) called a green tea shot. I had already sung 2 songs and was dancing slowly on the dance floor as A****** was singing a slow ballad. In a blink of an eye both feet slipped out from under me and I fell backwards and landed on my wrists, both of them, and from the sound and the pain, knew I had broken both. I immediately informed A****** we needed to go to the French Hospital ER, that night I spent 5 hours in the ER, both wrists were badly broken, the right wrist would need surgery to insert a steel plate, then a cast for 6 weeks, and the left wrist was a simpler break - and would need 8 weeks in a cast.. As of today it's been 6.5 weeks,- for the most part I have been completely incapacitated, not able to open doors or feed myself or drive, take a bath, work at my job up north in Marin county ( I'm and artist and hairstylist). I am a sole business owner with my career spanning 33 years and I do not have disability as such. I am facing another 3-6 months of PT before I can work full time again. I contacted the manager of the Siren, M**** Schaller and the owners of the Siren I know as friendly acquaintances (P*** and K**** *********). 2 days after the accident I paid a visit to the Siren to ask about their Liability Insurance to make a small claim to help offset my loss of income. I wrote several emails to the manager M**** ********* and explained I would like to start a claim- at first he was sympathetic but within a few days M**** refused to put me in touch with the owners or the Sirens insurance - M**** also stated in an email he had heard from a bar patron that I was "suing" them and that I should bring a lawyer to make a case for my "injury". The customer's information was passed on to our insurance carrier and I would expect that they be reaching out shortly if they haven't already to review the claim.
