Smugmug.com was used as a scam on my credit card. 20 $8.91 purchases were made over a 48-hour period. It seems to me somebody at this company should have smelled a rat and closed down the purchases.

I have been using Flickr since 2009. When SmugMug came into the picture, members of the ******************** were targeted and forced to upgrade to Pro or risk losing their accounts. I upgraded both of my accounts to Pro because I did not want to lose my accounts after the "recent changes" to their terms of service which did nothing but alienate the SecondLife users and restrict what they could do on the free accounts even further. I frequently see promotions for discounts for upgrading to Pro. In fact there's a 20% off discount going on right now. However their promotional e-mails are being sent to EXISTING pro users, but the discounts are NOT available to existing pro accounts! The promotional email I received included ZERO fine print about not being available to existing pro users. There was NO indication in the promotional e-mail that only new upgrades could use the discount. So imagine my surprise when i tried to redeem the discount and was met with a "thanks for being pro" message. I logged out of my account and clicked the link again, trying to see if I would see a different webpage if I wasn't logged in. They are offering 2-year plans for $113. If I tried to upgrade my account right now from annual to 2-year, they charge me $135. Why is this company so greedy that they won't allow people to upgrade to a better plan with the promotional discount that they sent directly to an existing pro user? What is the point in sending targeted advertising to their userbase and then refuse to honor the advertisement? This company is absolutely atrocious and I am seriously considering cancelling both of my Pro accounts because of their shady behavior and misleading advertising practices.

Customer Service are ******* and I will not be able to work with them again.

They sent me 2 e-mails, froze my account (without any indication), then after i expressed sincere concern and upset, they justified their actions and left me no choice but to leave.

They don't allow you to unsubscribe from any of their services without completely closing your account. You are stuck paying them forever if you want any access to your images at all.

You can't even pause your subscription if you can't afford it.

Do not use smugmug. Flickr, ShootProof, Photobucket anything.
