I have really enjoyed getting to complete therapy on my own time on my own device. My therapist sends me check in messages throughout the week and can ask me to journal. Its been a great service.

Great at taking money, bad at actually helping. Therapist 1: On her **** said she did phone call sessions. Turns out she did not. I did not want to do a video on my first session. Therapist 2: Made the appointment, then messaged and saed he was not familiar with the platform scheduling. So...WorseHelp doesn't require therapists to know what they are doing? Paid for 2 weeks, they should definitely refund. (of course, I expect their standard response "Our terms of service says no refunds")

I want to preface this message by saying that I have no doubt the therapists and mental health professionals working with BetterHelp are caring, qualified, and dedicated to helping people. This is not about them. However, I feel it is my responsibility to warn potential clients about the deeply unethical financial practices of the BetterHelp platform itself.I recently discovered that BetterHelp had been billing me $300+ per month for nearly three years, even though I canceled the service within days of signing up in March 2022. I received confirmation of my cancellation at that timeand a refundbut the charges resumed without my consent and continued for years without my knowledge.Worse, they charged me again on July 4, 2025, three days after my account officially shows that therapy had ended (July 1, 2025).When I contacted them to request a full refund for these unauthorized charges, they only refunded six months and stated that this was the maximum refund they would offer, despite never having received services, logged in, or even having a credit card on file during much of this period. If this can happen to me, it can happen to ********* sharing this because I believe people deserve transparency when choosing where to seek support. If you are considering BetterHelp, please proceed with caution. Check your billing statements carefully and frequently. Be sure to get written confirmation of all cancellations and screen-capture your account status. If you would like to see documentation of my experienceincluding screenshots from my account and billing recordsplease feel free to contact me directly. Im happy to share everything, so you can make an informed decision.Mental health care should never come with hidden fees, deceptive billing practices, or months (in my case, years) of silent charges. We all deserve better.Sincerely,****** ********

This review is purely based off of the quality of therapy I have received and the success of it. That being said I highly recommend this avenue for fellow introverts or folks that are restricted in their ability to attend walk in office visits.Their *********s are knowledgeable and specialize in a whole array of ************ first ********* didn't click the best with me and my situation, however the second did and has stuck. She has been a huge help and we have made so much progress together in regards to where my mind was when I first popped into our virtual *********** yeah, it works. If you're hesitant because you are unsure of the results just try it out and see for yourself.

No way to contact a person customer service line doesnt work. Wanted to sign me up before they would talk to me about using my insurance. They just wanted me to sign up and finally after 2-3 days of trying to contact them and several emails, they finally sent me a note saying they dont bill insurance. That was what I was afraid of. Sure enuff if I had signed up like they wanted me to I would b stuck for 3months of paying outta my pocket 45-50$ a week. Haha. Im 77 and if anyone thinks we have 3 months, 45$ a week, that 180$ a month x 3 months. If u know a senior who could pay that hope they use their money wisely. Their practice and collection n sign up issues needs to b discussed and changed. I was a nurse for ********** never thought getting help could b this tuff. Guess Ill have to find another way to get help for my anxiety.

I was connected to Betterhelp through my work covered with my insurance. The therapist I received was fantastic and he built great rapport with me in the first session. He was always available for me when I needed to book appointments. He was empathetic and truly listened to me. I was struggling with a very toxic work environment and I had one of 2 paths to take. I knew which was the best for me, but my old behavioral patterns which my therapist really helped me to recognize, were getting in my way. He was very blunt and honest with me which is what great therapy is all about for those who want to seek change, and for the better. I battled my therapist in many of my sessions and every single time, he told me he would support me either way and help me carry forward. That was incredibly comforting and in the end, I came to the best and healthiest conclusion and life couldn't be better at this point. I was sad to actually conclude sessions with my Betterhelp Therapist because he was the one to help me through this pivotal decision in my life. I hold ALOT of gratitude for having him help me. Betterhelp has a great app platform which was so easy and quick to use for booking appointments, cancellations, communication with the therapist and in the actual therapy session which gives you options of virtual or on the phone. Great company, great service and fantastic therapy. Thank you so much!

BetterHelp has been tremendously helpful. I was skeptical of online therapy but the therapist that I was matched with has been amazing! I thought that I would attend for a month or two but it's been several months now and I can honestly say that I have no intention of stopping therapy.

Spent $720 from April to July and two *********s. The first one lied about the first session being a webcam session instead of a phone call session. She only asked general questions about my life and kept rubbing in that I have "a lot of time on my hands" due to me struggling to find work (I told her about this). She would try to talk over me when I corrected her on basic info about myself, she sent me a ******* video to calm me down while I was literally breaking down on the phone, blamed me for my current situation, and ended the call by pressuring me into a webcam session and taking medication for my depression and anxiety. She used similar behaviors of my abusive mother, and it retraumatized me. But I decided to give BetterHelp one more chance, and while my second ********* was nice, she only had chat sessions, and she only provided general life advice rather than helping me process my trauma. I never received the quality of therapy I needed, and it just made my mental health worse. I tried to get a refund back then, but they refused. That was in 2021. It's 2025, and they're still refusing me a full refund, now due to "policy". While I understand the policy, BetterHelp makes exceptions for specific reasons, ie, extreme financial hardship. When I told them I was going through financial hardship, they still refused. At the end of the day, BetterHelp promised to improve my mental health, but they not only didn't deliver on that promise, but also scammed an autistic customer out of money that I desperately need now, or I will be in both financial and mental crisis.

I paid over $500 and came away from the experience with eight emails directing me to the National Suicide Hotline. As far as I'm concerned, I've been scammed.
