Previously, I purchased a lifetime license for Abletrend software, and I had no issues for a number of years. In 2017, the company decided to add an annual $300maintenance fee to the lifetime license, in an attempt to make even more money from customers which already paid for a lifetime license.I filed a complaint with ******************** and the owner, Mr. **** reached out and offered to no longer charge me the annual fee if I agreed to remove the complained from the BBB site. I agreed and there were no more issues until now. When attempted to upgrade to the newest version ($600) for the lifetime license owners, my transaction was rejected indicating that there was an account error. I called and was told that they received instruction from Mr. **** to not approve my upgrade unless I also paid for my annual maintenance fee, resulting in a $900 transaction. I refused give that this was in contradiction to what was previously agree by Ablesys.I sent an email to ******************* asking to reconsider given the previous agreement with ***************** and this was respected up to this point.Additionally, the company has removed a large number of free or inexpensive data connections, with just a few reliable options in place, costing hundreds of dollars per month to use. This maintenance fee was supposed to cover the costs of various integrations and connections giving customers options to connect with the software. Now this is no longer the case, and it appears that the maintenance costs are just kept by Ablesys as profit margin alone.I am requesting that Ablesys respect their agreement and stop attempting to charge me this annual cost, as previously agreed.
