In Nov/Dec 2021 I ordered 100 copies of genealogy books to be printed from HGW. After months of dealing with HGW, I received the books on 23 Mar 2023. The books were so badly printed, that they cannot be sold or given away. The outside binding isn't smooth out and there are spots and smears on them. The inside of the book is unbelievable - the spacing of the chapters, ************************ are off. My manuscript, which I sent to HGW, was 238 pages, excluding title page, contents, etc. HGW reduced the pages. They started numbering at page 6 & ending with page 191, thus cramping chapters together. Each chapter was to start a new page. To get more than one chapter on the page, some of the font was changed to very small, while the other font on the page was size 11. By changing the chapters, the numbering of the pages is off, therefore, making the Index unless. No library or archives will accept a book without a legitimate index. HGW was to send me a copy of the book before it was printed, so I could approve it. Instead they emailed me 3 pages of the book, which of course looked fine. Some of the printing in the book is ****** dark, other pages are so light you can hardly read them, and there are smears and spots on some pages. A few of the pages are blurred. There are gaps between the words in the sentences, which destroys the whole sentence and paragraph. Also, when indenting a list of names, the names are uneven. Some names are indented and others go back to the left margin. Just a mess! After all this, I was called by ***************************, one of the employees, and encouraged to have 50 more books printed, because HGW could get libraries to buy the books. Just another way to scam me. I have had other genealogy books published, so this process is not new to me. ***********************, State Archives, and libraries will not accept these books. Let alone, no one would buy a book from me. I want a full refund $2767 by a certified check. I also dealt with owner ***************************.
