On August 9, 2022, SFV Moving Company moved my stuff (everyone I owned but my car, bicycles, and computers) from my former address at ************************************************, to my current address at ********************************* I had also hired them to pack my stuff on August 8, 2022, but I ended up packing almost half of my stuff because they came unprepared (without packing paper at all - including to pack breakables and kitchen items). That is how I came to know precisely what was in kitchen boxes that subsequently went missing. I know that 2 boxes of kitchen items were lost, I am not assuming that SFV employees took them, but that they were handled carelessly (ie left in an open truck at my new address). I had labeled them and believe that someone took them, presuming some resale value. I have a detailed list of what went missing because, as I unpacked the kitchen boxes, I realized I didn't have some basic items. I waited, however, until opening and emptying every single box from the move before reaching out to SFV movers because I wanted to make sure I really was missing items. Since assuring myself of the missing items, I have contacted SFV moving three times by email; each time I allowed several days to pass to give them a chance to respond, and I received absolutely no response. Most recently, I called and spoke wit****** who said he was the operation manager. He said he would get back to me, but he has not either. By the way, they post on their website **** reviews, but they have no identity actually on ****. They also post that they are**** accredited, but their company name does not come up when I search for it on your website. I clearly should have been more careful when I chose a moving company. I have put together a list of items that went missing, and the related costs associated with replacing them. I shared the list with the moving company - and I am doing that again now here with you: continued ...

I had also hired them to pack my stuff on August 8, 2022, but I ended up packing almost half of my stuff because they came unprepared (without packing paper at all - including to pack breakables and kitchen items). I have put together a list of items that went missing, and the related costs associated with replacing them. I shared the list with the moving company - and I am doing that again now here with you: paring knife ($8) cutco table steak knife set ($270) cutco bread knife ($126) cutco cheese knife ($99) bread knife, purple ($5.99) purple zester ($15.95) flatware set - 6 place setting ($129.95 x 6 = $779.70) - to replace the exact same set, which is discontinued metal colander ($79.99) plastic colander ($9.00) 3 measuring spoon sets ($13.94 + $8.99 + $8.99 = $31.92) 2 plastic measuring cup sets ($8.00) 3 glass measuring cups ($18.49) ceramic chef knife - large ($59.95) ceramic chef knife - medium ($9.95) frog bottle opener ($7.99) statue of liberty bottle opener ($17.21) empire state building bottle opener ($9.95) corkscrew (my favorite) ($24.95) ceramic spoon set (2) ($7.39 + $10.99 = $18.38) plastic spoon for my coffee that matches my favorite cup ($11.99) bamboo flatware drawer organizer ($36.99) bamboo drawer organizer ($17.49) Chopsticks and asian style spoon set of 4 ($12.99) Electric mixer attachments ($19.99) Sifter ($10.00) Stainless cocktail mixing set ($39.97) Set of soft boiled egg spoons ($10.90) Soup spoon set (6) ($113.94) Serving items that matched the flatware set / hostess set ($46.99) Glass mixing bowl set ($16.99) The items add up to a total replacement cost of $1,938.66 - and I will add that it will be at least that, as it is possible I will continue to discover missing items as I go to cook, etc, and discover more missing items. Please note the specificity, too. I am not inventing this list. This is a list painstakingly developed as I checked every cupboard and drawer after unpacking. As you might imagine, it is deeply distressing to have lost these items, and then extra upsetting to be ignored and dismissed by the movers under whose not so watchful eyes my items disappeared. I paid them $1775.00 for the move on August 9, 2022, $797.00 for the packing help on August 8, 2022, and $120 in cash for tips to the three men who helped pack and helped move my items. I would like to lodge a formal complaint, therefore, against SFV Moving Company - and I would love it if you would help me get back my $1,936.66 - or the two missing boxes. Thank you.
