VSCO offers photography editing software via subscription. I did a free trial and was automatically put in their top tier subscription. Then, when the free trial expired, I was charged the top tier pricing . I had no control ot choice whether to choose a lower tier subscription. They automatically charged me for the highest tier. When I inquired, I was unable to speak with anyone and sent and email that stated no *********** is this possible. How can one be charged the top tier without even given the option to choose a lower tier? How can a company charge automaticity for a full year when they offer a monthly subscription? This is incredibly disheartening and dishonest of the company.

Vsco makes it exceedingly difficult to delete an account. They do this by employing a series of "dark patterns" I used an SSO to create my VSCO account. Immediately decided the subscription wasn't worth it and that the free option was trash, I went to delete my account. But I cant do it from the app. The browser insisted that I verify my account and device via a verification email which I never got. And on top of all that, after all of the various "help articles they provide, they end all of them by suggesting you commit to one of the paid tiers to get help from the community. My hope is that if nothing gets done, that I can file a suit. Or they could just delete my account.

I received a promotional email for 50% off an annual subscription. When I went to redeem the offer it was invalid within hours of receiving the offer. I wanted to inquire if it was another issue so I was directed to their help forum, sent through a very limited menu and then directed back to email. My question didnt fit any clear help category so I chose General. I immediately received an email saying those help tickets do not to receive responses and to file another under another category if I need help. Their help section does not provide any instructions or guidance on these categories. Its clear that this is a dark pattern designed to make users give up on getting help. I am under the impression that VSCOs customer support and maybe the discount I was inquiring about simply is not available to users. This is misleading.
