    ****** stated that they reached out to contractor to install 3 outdoor lighting and install 2 indoor outlets. Since this was not permitted, I reach out to contractor to get an estimate for getting the work permitted. He then said this job was not in the books, charged me to bring the electrical work up to code, which was expected. However, after **** pulled the permit, he is now refusing to meet with the city inspector unless I pay an additional $1500 + fees. My original request sent on 3/19/2023: Hi ****, They added some exterior conduit and put in outlets in the garage and wiring to service 3 motion sensing lights outdoors. I still plan to get it permitted. Would you still want to take on the job meeting with the city's inspector? Please let me know if you still plan to get a DC business license and can give a quote for how much you would charge to meet with the inspector. Thanks! *****

    ************** we did not install those light, Megaton Electric did not install the lights. We don't know who your tenant hired to make the installation. yes you hire us to make corrections on ******* not for ************ you want. you want me to paid for others mistake is not right. if your tenant provide an invoice check or any other form of payment to proof we did the work, I will do the whole work for free. other wise you have to go back to your tenant for answers.

    please go back to your tenant for answers or pay anybody to finish the project, no one is going to do it for free.

    all you need to do is provide us with an estimate or invoice number a check number or any other form of payment for those lights and I will do it my self for free. thank you very much. you still have an invoice pending for the city fees. remember time and materials not free. any time you want to see the invoices we send you we have copies. I'm sorry don't want to be rude but there is no free work.

    I am rejecting this response because until the day of the inspection I was led to believe that the contractor agreed to pull a permit and meet with the city inspectors and was only told on the day of the inspection that he would not attend. My former tenant said they used Megaton Electric, but it was likely a backdoor deal with one of the workers as they were not able to produce a receipt. Regardless of who did the original work, Megaton Electric took the job to bring items up to code and pulled the permit and should see that to completion. The estimate states that additional city fees were required. I called to ask what that would entail since the price was not listed, and he stated that he would pass along the permit fees of around $100, which I would be happy to pay once the permit is approved.

    =====

    Here are my original two email requests, dated 3/19/2023, describing the job.

    Hi ****,
    I didn't realize that the tenant had additional electrical work done in the garage and exterior lights installed. ********* requires a permit for that action. In applying for the permit, we'll need a ********* business license (see attached). They are open regular business hours, but closed early on Fridays.
    Please let me know if you intend to apply for the license and what if any additional charges you'll request for meeting with the city inspectors for the permit inspection.
    This is for the work done on xxxx
    Thank you!

    Hi ****,
    They added some exterior conduit and put in outlets in the garage and wiring to service 3 motion sensing lights outdoors.
    I still plan to get it permitted. Would you still want to take on the job meeting with the city's inspector?
    Please let me know if you still plan to get a DC business license and can give a quote for how much you would charge to meet with the inspector.
