    My father passed away this year and we filed all of the ******** benefits on behalf of my elderly mother in April. We called every month and were assured that all of the paperwork is in place and that the deposit would be made into her account. The case was escalated repeatedly. It is mid September. We are now informed that there is a "technical in house computer error" with payroll that has delayed the benefits. RASC owes us over $70K, but keeps stalling. Who is collecting on the interest of this money while the benefits are delayed? This is unacceptable action from what is a reputable institution. Both of my parents worked for ** tirelessly, my dad continued to dedicate time and effort to the system well into his 90's. They were true believers and significant contributors to the California public education system . My mother who suffers from dementia needs 24/7 care and she is relying on this payment for her care. Shame on the ** for treating survivor families in this manner.

    I am the trustee of a trust who is to receive death benefits from UCRAS* I have been calling since 10/22/22 to inquire about the status of this benefit* They requested money to pay back the Part B premium and that was sent, then they sent me other forms to fill out and notarize* Those were done 11/11/22 and sent in* I have called them at least 4 times since October* Each time I have been on hold for over an hour with no one picking up* One time I waited 2 hours and NO ONE answered the phone* I recently sent them a letter on 2/1/23 requesting information on this payout as we are trying to close this trust* I have not heard a thing* I am currently (2/21/23) on hold with them again trying to get answers, they said it would be a 30 min wait* I'm hitting the 15 minute mark * * * *I have low expectations for today's call* I won't be tying up my phone for hours today - I will contact higher authorities at UC to resolve this* What a shame that they treat their retirees this way*

    No contact, the do not call back. I have been trying to talk to someone for months and only had 3 callbacks ever in the dozens of calls I have made. There is no email, everything is by phone. Trying to deal with the death of my mother and survivor benefits for my stepfather, this isn't even for me, I'm the representative. Why cant they do what they say they will do, call back!
