I've been taking a medication called Vumerity to several years now. This is a medication for Multiple Sclerosis, which I was diagnosed with in 2006. This medication is very expensive; approximately $12,000+ per month. I could never afford this medication without financial assistance. Luckily Biogen, the maker of this medication, affords me financial assistance. My own insurance, Express Scripts pays about $4,000 leaving, in March 2024 a balance of approximately $8,698.13. My own insurance, Express Scripts, maxes out at $12,000 per year, so in 3 short months I've maxed out my coverage for the other medications I take. These medications cost me more because of this. In March 2024 I decided I would no longer take Vumerity because of the issues with receiving it and the financial cost and the March 2024 dose would be my last dose. Biogen added $6,323.09 to my financial assistance account prior to March 2024. I gave this information to Accredo, the specialty pharmacy that Express Script uses and this left me with a balance of $2,375.04. I contacted Biogen on June **************************************************************************** back. On July 10 I called Biogen back to discuss the balance and was told that I exhausted my funds and there was no more money. I told them that I was in the financial assistance program in March 2024 and they couldn't leave me with a $2,375.04 financial burden. They told me that there was nothing that could be done and there was no recourse. I believe that this is unfair and that Biogen broke a "contract" with me because they are now refusing to pay the balance for the medication. In addition, no one from Biogen contacted me in February 2024, prior to ordering my March 2024 dose, to tell me I was low on funds and would have to pay the remaining balance if I did place an order. I would not have placed the March 2024 order had I knew. I would like Biogen to uphold their end of the "contract" and pay the remaining balance
