This place was a sad disappointment. The jacuzzi in our room did not work. When I spoke via telephone to the manager, we were offered compensation. However, there were no responses after that to numerous phone calls and emails.

Worst place in the world advertises they have cable television and they do not just a TV with apps like you would buy at the store but you have to use your own accounts in order to watch anything meaning you're going to have to have accounts with sling or Amazon Prime Etc false advertising in this regard also rented a room with an unworking jacuzzi and complaints were met with quick dismissal by Tia who refused any talk of a refund we had booked 3 days but left after 1:00 and are seeking to be compensated for the two days that we did not stay because of this false advertising and obvious slumlord Behavior.

The supposed owner T** was going to give me a credit for another poor property experience (drug activity on property and seeming to be associated blood (and hair) in bathroom after much complaining and set me up here. I then looked thru reviews, which included things like bed bugs. I told her I did not want my credit at Chantico as she also had told me she discounts rates 25% if you leave a positive review. The disparity between glowing reviews and unpaid reviews are stark! So, I'm out ~ $300 for not wanting to stay in a property with drug activity and bed bugs. Mind you, initial reservation was made only an hour prior to arrival, so no business lost. This must be a slum hotel owner.

We stayed at the Chantico Inn May 27, 2023 for one night. We paid $600.00 for a Queen Room.
The bed was like sleeping on a brick. The sink in the vanity leaked. When you open the bathroom door, the door hit the toilet. While in the shower, the grout on the shower wall was falling into the tub. This room was not luxurious. We paid a 5 star price for a less than 1 star room. We called Chantico and complained. Nothing was done. They pointed at Booking.com. I called Booking.com, the pointed back to Chantico. In other words, nothing was done. They don't care.

I wrote a review but wanted to also share that I had a similar experience to one of the people that said that they said her credit card was declined.
A very nice girl that had just started work at Chantico ,was sent to knock on my door to say my card was declined. I went to the desk and got my credit card company on the line and put them on speaker phone. They said that my card was not declined and that a charge was put on my card and then cancelled by the desk. It was a very uncomfortable second night as I had a problem about the charges they were randomly charging.
I was tired dealing with the owners girlfriend T** ,as she has an answer for everything. When she was about to charge my card again two weeks later as she said I owed her more money, that’s when capital one suggested to close it down.

This place has just enough positive things to lure you in— price, location, historic charm, pet friendly... but it is not worth it. I repeat, it is not worth it.
Imagine owning a historic property like this, with huge business potential, and letting it rot and fester into complete trailer trash. What a waste.
I stayed one night only, and got mysteriously charged $50 for one pet. The pet policy is printed on a paper on the wall at the front desk: "$25 per pet per day." So why was I charged $50 for a "barking dog?" Not to mention the fact that this was not communicated to me at all. I found out when I checked my bank statements. I was told the owner would "look into it." How exactly will the owner contact me, and vice versa? How naive must I be. The night shift manager was so rude and unkempt, her boob was falling out while she yelled at my husband and I for our barking dog. She also had some guy with her and her room door was wide open. I am going to seek other avenues to get my stolen money back.
