      On Memorial Day 2024 I ordered a mattress, a low profile (2 ) foundation and a monster frame from ***** at Orange County Mattress at ******************* in *****************There were problems with the foundation: It was only 1 3/8 high. It rested below the 2 steel frame edge so I had no way of tucking in a sheet without mangling my hand. The horizontal wood beams were 8 apart and the mattress was sinking through and starting to deform. When I told him about the frame height, he wanted to know why I accepted delivery (I couldnt tell on first sight) and said Once you sign for it, its YOURS. He kept repeating that it was FREE, as if that fixed anything.When I told him about the mattress sinking through the gaps in foundation, he claimed to not understand what I was talking about. He suggested I call a customer service number but they told me they only schedule deliveries, and that ***** should know.When ***** called me back, he was passive aggressive and irritated. He refused to ask the factory about plank spacing so I didnt know what was available. Later, when he identified two possible replacement foundations, he angrily said, PICK ONE. He sounded outright hostile at that point. He also tried to make me feel guilty about sending the delivery service out a second time.The new foundation clears the frame so that problem is resolved. The gaps between planks on the replacement are 7 apart which is closer than previous, but still too wide. I had to place thick cardboard pieces between the foundation and mattress to prevent deformation. It was ridiculous what I had to go through just to sort it all out.A mattress salesperson ought to be knowledgeable of how the foundations are constructed and know the requirements to support the mattress. Offering a foundation for free should not be an excuse to refuse to make things right. ***** could have just as easily fixed these issues without becoming hostile. The whole experience was very regrettable.
