I am submitting this formal complaint regarding Liberty tax, which has withheld my tax certification since November 2024. Despite my repeated attempts to resolve the issue, I have been given conflicting responses, including claims that my state exam was never received or submitted. However, I have verification that it was submitted as required.

As a result of this delay, I have been unable to work during the current tax season, causing financial hardship. Given the ongoing mismanagement and lack of resolution, even if my certification were to be approved now, I no longer wish to be associated with this institution. Therefore, I am requesting a full refund of the amount I paid for the course.

M****** took the Basic tax education course at our office last year. She did not have good attendance or good communication. In order to complete the course and for her hours to be reported to the CTEC ( California Tax Education council) she needs to have completed both the federal exam as well as the California exam.  We have communicated this to her multiple times.

She needs to complete the 2024 California Final Exam (TY2023). We by CTEC law cannot report M****** as completed until their user profile shows the exam as completed. M****** does not show as having completed the exam at this time. ( as of today March 18th, 2025)  From the screenshot she provided, if you were to click on the "Open Assignments" tab from M******'s page, you should see the California Final exam as not completed. Unfortunately, until the California Final Exam is completed on their profile, we cannot report her course completion to CTEC

Resolution - M****** still has access to the portal - and can still complete the exam and once she completes and passes the exam - we will be able to report her course as completed to CTEC. We have also emailed and let M****** know this prior to receiving BBB email.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am writing in response to your email regarding my course completion. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this matter, but I continue to face issues accessing my portal. If my access was truly available, I would have submitted the required exam long ago. However, my portal has shown restricted access, preventing me from completing the California Final Exam.

Additionally, I raised concerns about my account access in person, and I was assured that my exam submission was handled. Yet, I am now being told it was never reported to CTEC. This situation has been ongoing for months, and I find it unfair that I am still unable to receive my certification despite completing all other requirements.

Given the continuous difficulties, lack of proper communication, and the fact that I have not received the certification I paid for, I formally request a full refund. This has been an unnecessarily frustrating process, and I simply want closure. Please confirm the next steps regarding my refund.

    Regards,

    M****** ********
