I purchased a small vintage Bailey corner coffee table for $194.18. I left the table at the store after purchase so I could return with my minivan to transport it to my home. I returned to the store 3.5 hours after my purchase, only to find that the table has been moved indoors. The back of the table was facing me, and I did not see the front of the table while the employee loaded the table into my car. When I arrived at my home and took the table out and brought it in the house, I discovered that there was a large chip about 1.5 inches long on the top front of the table. This was very surprising to me because I had not noticed this before. However, a friend was with me when I purchased a table and we took a picture of the table with my receipt on it, so I could prove that I had actually paid for when I was to return to the store and pick up the table. I thought maybe I had missed this chip. So I went to my friends home and asked to see the picture which showed that the table did not have this damage when I purchased it. Because the store was about to close in 10 minutes. I drove directly to the store and informed the store manager of the situation. She was very close minded, and unwilling to listen to my story without being rude, interrupted me, and tended to accuse me of damaging the table myself. She refused to do anything to compensate me.

    Business Response

The customer came in after he picked up his table and took it home, and stated that it was damaged. He did not bring the table with him, or photos, just came in yelling at all of my employees and waving his arms knocking over items on my counter.
I spoke with my employee who loaded the small table for him, while the customer watched, and he said he did not notice damage at the time.
He was in right at closing time, and I stated that I could do nothing without seeing the table or a photo and would not continue the conversation as he was becoming verbally abusive. He stated he would be in the next day with photos.
He never returned or sent photos so I have never seen the damage.
I am more than willing to work with home a long as he can remain civil, and he would need to bring the table in.

    Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:

It is in accurate. I did not shout at all of her employees. Again when the table was put into my vehicle, it was put in backwards so I could not see the front of it. I came directly to the store because they were getting ready to close. She told me there was nothing she could do because I had already driven away with it and she accuse me of damaging it. You have my before and after pictures if I had that damage piece, I could repair the table but I don’t because they broke it.
