well, I have had mailbird for several years, worked great with few issues, but...after my 2 year old computer went bluescreen overnight, I had to get a new one in early august , and using an older computer, got a license retrieval email (and apparently, was upgraded to 3.0 free of charge) but after , 1-2 days mailbird stopped working on new and 5 year old computer. When I try to use support, I get a suspended user auto-comment! I sent 2 messages, but no response...not sure what, if anything I did wrong!Mailbird

Hi there ******,I have just created a support ticket in order to reach out to you with a reply which addresses each point individually. Your suspension was an error caused by the platform we use to communicate with our customers, and I have removed it immediately. I do apologize unreservedly for this, and wish to assure that the suspension was not caused in any way by anything you either said or did ************* for the problems with Mailbird, I have asked you a few questions in my message, and I very much look forward to hearing back from you. I'm certain that we can get everything solved in a short amount of time.Sincere apologies from all of us at Mailbird for the issues you have encountered recently.Review fromRinaldus D

Mailbird, It seems you're lying with your shady "explanation". If the issue is truly caused by the discontinued Grammarly SDK, then why does Grammarly continue to function when you're in the Message Source window in Mailbird? Intentionally removed support from the Compose window but forgot about the Message Source? No shame? Of course, prioritizing profits with Sapling over customer satisfaction seems to be the choice for Mailbird. Any new 'explanations,' or will you continue lying? lol Check this out ***********************************************************Mailbird

Hi,Any trace of Grammarly in the message source almost certainly comes from your own Grammarly desktop app - we use Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) for writing and displaying emails, and it does not support Grammarly's desktop app. This is why in the past we used Grammarly's *** to integrate its product into Mailbird's 'Compose' window, but the *** was deprecated by Grammarly as you already know. However, for everyone else's reference, I'm including Grammarly's statement here: *********************************'m not sure why you believe that we profit from our partnership with *******, but you are incorrect when you state this. Furthermore, we did not profit from our partnership with Grammarly in the past.We are just as disappointed as you are with the loss of Grammarly in Mailbird - it was a wonderful partnership from our perspective, and we did everything we could to persuade them to change their minds. I would strongly suggest contacting them to bring your frustration to their attention.Review fromOleg G

Olegutilities...At the time I purchased my lifetime license for version 1.x (with lifetime updates and upgrades), Mailbird themselves has said the license is valid and inclusive of all future versions and future upgrades without any further payments, so there's no question at all that my current license should work for V3... I am a long time customer who supported ********************** from it's humble beginnings, I do not like writing negative reviews, but now Mailbird management's word and in writing simply cannot be trusted. My 2.9.x version would not update to version 3, so I initially inquired Mailbird about it. At that time I learned they switched everyone to paid updates and upgrades, their responses were nothing short of excuses dressed as factual answers. The latest version before v3 is Mailbird 2.9.x... critical updates and security fixes, there will be no further improvements to Mailbird 2.0 - eventually both of these will also cease to be provided by the end of 2024. After this date, some of Mailbird 2.x's app integrations may stop working properly (e.g. ******************* etc.) and in the same paragraph they reiterate that Mailbird 2.x license will continue to work seamlessly and indefinitely.Upgrades, are expected on all platforms, or the platform disappears. Lifetime means lifetime... Mailbird is not in bancrupcy, so purchasing another lifetime on Mailbird means Mailbird says lifetime, but it's not-lifetime.Mailbird

Hi ****, we're naturally sorry to learn of your disappointment - I can see that you first purchased Mailbird in 2019, and although Mailbird 2.x has now reached the end of its lifecycle, we are keen to emphasize that your license will continue to work indefinitely and without issue for that version of Mailbird.Upgrading to Mailbird 3.0 is entirely optional, and although the vast majority of our customers are already using our most recent product, we respect and acknowledge anyone's decision to not take up our upgrade offer for a small fee. We would like to take this opportunity to once again apologize for any frustration or disappointment causeReview fromCong Z

I bought a lifetime license in 2017 and found out that ************************** is out. As many others have experienced, I cannot upgrade to 3.0 without paying another $25+. I am disappointed and felt fooled by Mailbird, to say the least, because I have been using Mailbird for a long time and started to trust the company along the way. I have not decided if I want to move to another email client software, but I feel I cannot trust the company anymore.Mailbird

Although we cannot find any license key associated with the email address included in the customer's message, we do wish to take this opportunity to reassure the customer that any license key purchased for ************************** will continue to work seamlessly with that specific version of the product.Upgrading to Mailbird 3.0 is entirely optional, and although we do wish to take the opportunity to apologize for the disappointment caused in this instance, we do wish to reiterate that an existing Mailbird license will not stop working.Review fromGirts A

Purchased Lifetime Business Licence with unlimited updates including future versions is what they mentioned on their page at the the time of the purchase! So now you decided not to support and not to honor upgrades? :) How nice.... What kind of business does this?Mailbird

Hello Girts,We're naturally sorry to hear of your disappointment - the Personal Pay Once license which you originally purchased will continue to work without issue on Mailbird 2.x (i.e. the previous version of our product).Although this version of Mailbird has now reached the end of its lifecycle, we are committed to honoring any purchase of a Mailbird 2.x license since we are not terminating the previous version of our product.Anyone who chooses to purchase a Mailbird 3.0 license now has the option to include an add-on which guarantees that they will continue to receive any and all new features or improvements - furthermore, as someone who has already previously purchased one of our licenses, the optional upgrade fee is significantly discounted when compared to the price listed on our homepage for any brand new customers. We hope that this information proves helpful, and wish to apologize once more for any disappointment causedReview fromBrent B

Do not buy from Mailbird. Like others have said, I purchased a lifetime activation license which, to them, does not mean anything. They're framing it as "an entirely new product" - so what, exactly, did I purchase lifetime access to? The product they're no longer supporting or maintaining is what. It's complete bull c*** and bad business. There are far better companies out there to do business with.Mailbird

2 starsSTAY AWAY from this company! Deceptive business practices. I purchased a business license that was supposed to come with LIFETIME upgrades. This is what is called in software development communities an **** You pay once up front to help seed a company with $ and you get the benefit of a lifetime license and FREE upgrades as the product develops. It is a win win for the developer and the early access consumer. Mailbird offered their program with Lifetime upgrades. They then come out with what they call a "major upgrade" and decide they no longer need to respect the original offer and hold consumers hostage to pay an upgrade fee and a new lifetime update fee to update to the newest version (3.0). They claim an upgrade is not the same product (even though it is). There are literally thousands of complaints all over the web due to their deceptive upgrade practice. I have had numerous support tickets and they will not back down. Not only are there not honoring lifetime updates, they are stating they will no longer support the current version of the software (2.9) next year no matter whether you have a lifetime licence or not. It is a shame, because I like the product and the program but I can stand behind a company that has NO business ethics.Review fromKawika M

1 starI purchased a "lifetime" license for **************************, but the company is not honoring the "lifetime license" which was sold to consumers. *********** is reporting to current "lifetime" license users that they must re-purchase a license to use ************************** *********** reports that Mailbird 2.0 "may" not work properly after 2024.I have already found hundreds of customer complaints about this. This situation amounts to unfair, deceptive and fraudulent business practices. I intend to file a complaint with my state's ************************** and with the FTC.Someone needs to stop this company from perpetrating fraud!Review fromDavid K

Product works ok. They are an email program. Purchased full program a year later they try and charge another minor fee and make it difficult to cancel.Just leaves a bad taste in your mouth it is completely a BS payment to get another $10. It's obvious.Mailbird

1 starThis company is a scam, stay far away. As many other users I purchased a lifetime license with all future updates included, however when they recently updated the program they refused to honor my lifetime license and told me I have to purchase a new license. Absolutely immoral company.
