      I signed on for a 4 month contract with my friend on 10/8/24. The main gym employee sold us in person at the *************** location on its "$30 a month for 4 months, this is a deal, you can cancel 30 days in advance to end it, but it is a 4 month contract you have to pay out." "No other fees?" "Nope." That's fine. They lied, and we happened to sign on the the most expensive 4 month period, where they charged $59 on 11/30/24 and again on 1/25/25 as what they claim are the yearly upgrade fees. Completely immoral to lie, and it doubles our total price for those 4 ********** a worse issue. I have been trying to call to cancel to end at the 4 months so we do not go into automatic new payments after the 4 month contract. The phone number for the *************** location on their website and on ****** was "off the hook" for 4 months. I tried to call the ******** location, they could not help me cancel, they tried to get another phone number for North Hollywood buy they could not. The gym is far to drive to, and the one time I did in March there was nobody at the desk at 6 pm for 30 minutes. So, I spoke with my Chase **** card, they agreed this was not being handled correctly, and they stopped payments from the card starting in 4/25 and they refunded me charges from 1/3/25 onward. Now I am getting texts saying from Speakeasy Fitness that I may go to collections. They didn't contact me for months about billing. Even their phone number was off the hook. But somehow they have some phone number to text me from that I didn't know about ever. I call today to Speakeasy Noho and phone is finally working again. And now, they are trying to charge me for all the payments ***** returned to me along with 4/25 and 5/25. They said they cannot cancel over the phone anyway, and that I should have gone to an online portal. I was not told that requirement verbally that Van **** should have cancelled for me. I am not tech saavy, I am having someone help write this for me.

      Speakeasy Fitness - Reseda closed their doors in mid April 2024. This information came without warning to its members and none of the accounts associated with that business were closed. I discovered the business was closed when trying to go for a workout. I immediately contacted the main office of the business (approximately April 26 2024) and tried to confirm that my account would be closed and no further automatic billing would continue. They had me go through a very bizarre online cancellation process, requiring me to create a new account online and fill out a new profile before being able to cancel the account. I did so and awaited confirmation, assuming the problem was now and forever resolved. Life goes on, I have a family to take care of, I moved twice and forgot all about Speakeasy Fitness until I noticed they were continuing to charge my account approximately $35 per month, I've tried to resolve this with them directly however they would not cancel my account or refund payments to their closed gym unless I went to their main office in person. This is not possible as I am currently working abroad. I've put a stop payment on them with my bank and disputed the previous year of charges. Speakeasy Fitness is the slumlord of the gym world, charging low rent for under-staffed ill-maintained gyms in decrepit warehouses with lighting so dim you can't see how grim and collapsed the building is unless you go 3 days a week, and in my opinion their business barely avoids being outright fraud because technically they do have weights.

      I've been trying to cancel my 30 day trial. They make it impossible. No one helps. They give the run around. I called first and they say to create an account online and do it online but they're is no way to do it online. Then I called back and no one would answer the phone. The next day, called again. That person said you have to come in person and that I could go in mejor 10 pm to be helped. I explained that it was past my 30 days b'cuz I tried the day before and she told me it was ok and they would cancel it and just refund my charge. So I go that night and arrive at 9:20 pm. The guy at the front desk said he cannot do anything b'cuz they only take cancelations until 8 pm. I advised him I spoke on the phone with someone earlier and they said 10 pm, and he did there was nothing he could do. So I go back the next morning and they yell me it's now part my 30 days so I automatically get out into a 1 year contact and there is nothing they can do. That lady at the front tried to help but wasn't getting any help or response from her managers.

      In November of 2024, I was involved in a high speed traffic collision on my motorcycle, which resulted in major injuries. Due to the Californias Health Studio Law, I am able to cancel the membership if I am injured in a way that prevents me from going to the gym and using the facilities. I have provided the documentation to the Manager, ***** (*************************************************************************************************************) from the physician and requested cancellation. The civil code cited on the California law clearly states that it can be cancelled at anytime when the proof has been provided. I have still not been granted the cancellation request and they are still trying to charge me for the months after the injury. This has resulted in damages including stress, threats of balance going to collections, and lost time. I am recovering from a serious motorcycle crash and am being demanded to go in person to meet with them, which I am unable to do. I am requesting they grant my cancellation as mandated per California law.

      Originally, my monthly fee was $9.99, and I registered my card for automatic payment. But they secretly charged me $29 and $59 on December 23rd 2024 and January 27th 2025, respectively, and didn't even let me know.They secretly charged for a high extra fee other than the monthly fee from my card that registered automatic payment without even informing me. When I pointed it out and asked for my membership cancellation, they refused the request, making strange excuses such as that memberships registered online cannot be canceled offline. (Even the website FAQ says membership cancellation is possible both online and offline, but when I called, they told me that I can cancel it only when I come to the gym unconditionally.) So when I stopped and reissued my card with automatic payment, they told me that they would charge me an additional fee later if the payment was not done properly.I filed a claim with the bank and asked for a refund, and the dispute is ongoing, but the membership remains uncancelled. Can you help me get a smooth refund and cancel my membership?

      In April 2024 I called speakeasy fitness to cancel my gym membership with them they let me know to come in person verses a phone call. I came to the gym around May 12th 2024 and let them know that I wanted to cancel, I had not used their gym or services once the entire time being charged $27.99 per month since March 2024. The person gave me an email to email to cancel my gym membership. I emailed that email on 5/12/24 as instructed. They never replied to me after countless emails to cancel, due to lack of services provided,neglect, and being overcharged without notice per our original agreement of $27.99 per month. I would like a refund of ****** (June 2024 through November 2024) and confirmation that my gym membership is cancelled.

      On 4/20/24 I came to the gym to get a last workout and cancel my membership the manager promised if I did not cancel my membership would only be ***** a month previous was *****. Not one time did I get charged the lower price since then and its an issue with receiving a text stating price will go up but it never did. I also have email proof from the business. I also would like my money back and interest on credit card charges.

      I signed a contract that I would be charged $29.99 a month, and on the contract it states that a second ****** is also added to that. It says nothing about there being a second fee for $29.99 for that ******. They have been charging me $59.98 a month, and have charged me that nine times.

      I have canceled my membership to speakeasy on Nov 2023, it is now august 2024 and I have been getting money stolen out of my account by **********************. I have email confirmation that my account was closed and that I could no longer use their facilities by the end of the month of Nov, 2023.

      I have canceled my membership several times, yet, they continue to charge me. I have also tried to contact the gym and have not been able to get this resolved. I was told by ******** it would be refunded on June 6, 2024 it's now July 4, 2024 and have not been refunded. I have tried to contact them several times but no one answers the phone or if they do they will keep me on hold and then hang up the phone. I have also messaged them and have been left on "read" with no reply.
