I placed an order directly from Retrospecs website totaling about $50. When I needed to return the two items, I was charged $24 $12 per item for return shipping, even though both items were shipped together in one box. This fee structure wasnt made clear until later in the return process and feels misleading and excessive.Whats especially frustrating is that the same items are sold on ****** with free returns for Prime members. I purposely chose to order from Retrospec directly, hoping to support the company rather than go through ******. I expected a comparable customer experience, not to be penalized for buying direct.I reached out to their customer service to request a reasonable adjustment and am still waiting for a fair resolution. I believe this policy and its presentation are unfair to consumers and should be reviewed.Retrospec

To clarify, our return system processes each item as an individual return, which is why multiple return requests must be submitted and a separate prepaid shipping label is generated per item. Customers also have the option to use their own label to return multiple items together if they prefer, which can help avoid multiple shipping fees.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This company is a disaster and I clearly should have looked it up on BBB first. **************** is a joke just like their bikes. The bike is unsafe and not suitable for my wife. They have this ridiculous policy, which is actually a theft scheme. They know the bikes are garbage so if people want a refund for their products, they want the customer to pay for more than half the bike to send it back to them. Their reason? Bc they know people are going to send them back bc they are poorly built and CLEARLY thieves. Lets see if you conform to the world and continue to steal from people or you going take back your defective piece of c*** and give me my money back? I will NEVER buy anything from these guys and I will be SURE that anyone I know stays clear away from you guys Now, send me my shipping label that covers your piece of c*** bike that is unsafe or make up a reason why you cant send one and your **** hurt over someone telling you how crappy you are as a company?Retrospec

Review of Lemon Bicycle: A Nightmare Experience I purchased the Retrospec Beaumont 2 with high hopes for a reliable daily commuter. Unfortunately, my experience with this bike has been nothing short of a nightmare.Upon receiving the bike, I noticed immediate issues. The seat was incredibly wobbly, making every ride uncomfortable and unstable. Despite taking it to two different bike mechanics for repairs, the problem persists. The bike emits constant squeaky and creaky noises, which not only annoy me but also draw unwanted attention during my commute.Seeking help, I reached out to customer support, hoping for troubleshooting advice. Instead, I received a generic email outlining the returns process, completely missing the point of my inquiry. To make matters worse, returning the bike requires paying a hefty restocking fee and covering shipping costs, making it financially impractical for me as a daily commuter who relies on this bike for work.As someone who depends on their bike as their sole means of transportation, this experience has been deeply disappointing and frustrating. If I could give zero stars, I would. Bike arrived scratched up, bent spokes, and missing parts. They don't answer the phone and they don't return calls. They claimed a replacement would be in the mail next day, 3 days later, it is still not in the mail.Retrospec

Email updates of the delivery expected date were misinformed and inaccurate. One of my items is still shown to be expected to come two days of the current date. I was also informed that someone would need to sign for the package, but the delivery was left outside of my door, and the doorbell was not rung. My family members were not aware of its delivery until an hour later. Based on the emailed updates I received from Retrospec, my order has been delayed multiple times and its tracking history shows evidence of the delivery being returned due to "unsafe location" on its way to my home. For multiple days, I expected my delivery to come, first the 15th, later the 18th, and now the 20th. This has wasted my family members' time and effort to receive the package once it has been delivered. The tracking link your company provided me has not updated its information in a timely manner to give me an accurate delivery date throughout this whole process.Retrospec

Hello *****, The shipper's records indicate the package was delivered on 07/20/2023. The package was left at the door due to the Free ground shipping option selected at check out. The signature required option was not selected at the time of checkout. Retrospec unfortunately, does not cover theft after a package has been delivered. This company has 1 star here yet good reviews on their site. A bike rated 3.5 stars has pages of 5 star reviews before you’re able to find negative ones.
Shopping here was the most aggravating and disappointing shopping experience of my life.
I purchased an electric bicycle for nearly $2000. The item did not work. I asked for a refund multiple times over the course of months and was only offered a return where I would have to pay the shipping myself for an item that was NOT USABLE. I was first told thst I could not make a return because I was outside the return window even though I had been trying to resolve the issue for months.
When I was finally offered a refund and a shipping label, I explained how difficult this would be for me. After months of locating a box, renting a car to pick up the box, paying for assistance disassembling the bike, and sending it back, I was so relieved to finally have the unusable item out of my house.
The customer service representative denied having received the bike at the warehouse even though I could track it as being delivered.
Finally, I received notice that I could no longer receive a refund but could be sent a replacement item.
This was a $1700 bike that has since been to discounted to half price because the quality is so poor.
After spending $400 in addition the the cost of the bike to try to resolve this, this was the treatment by customer service.
To be clear, I received a FAULTY item. I received a nearly $2000 item that did not work and was dangerous to use.
I was met with dismissive customer service who had no interest in solving the problem.
They now have my money and the item.
This is a bizarre Scammy business. Do not order from them.Retrospec

I ordered a city bike from Retrospec and was told that it would arrive in about 12 days. Unfortunately, the shipper re-routed it to a different person. I contacted the shipper and they told me that they would try to get the misdelivered bike to the correct address, but they never did. When I called Retropec and asked for a refund, they offered to send out another bike, but this was a birthday gift and I didn't have another two weeks to wait, so I asked for a refund... they the told me that their "policy" is to wait until their shipper finishes their "investigation" before they issue a refund, and that would take about 14 day. So, I paid $356 for a bike that I never got, and Retrospec still has my money. DON'T BELIEVE THE GLOWING REVIEWS ON THEIR WEBSITE!Retrospec

Hello,
The customer had a bike misdelivered by the shipping company. We filed a claim and reached out to the shipping company to see if they were able to retrieve the bike and redeliver it to the correct customer. The shipping claim typically takes anywhere from 5-12 business days to try and locate the package. The shipping company confirmed that the package was not able to be retrieved.
